How do I get worn off model number for ge side by side refrigerator

Check that whatever switches the light on and off is making good contact. My GE fridge has a bottle cap glued to the inside of the door, crude but it works. Some are magnetically operated, so you could test with a rare earth magnet.

For a mere $73 you can purchase a new switch.

The bake element (lower) is part 650 on the body cavity parts diagram. This gives the current part number as AP2031061 or WB44X10009 . Remove the connector that extends from the touch pad to the control board, sometimes there will be a plastic "locking bar" that needs to be loosened before the cable can be removed... Squeeze the ears on either side toward the middle and gently lift the locking bar up... If there is no locker, simply "wiggling" the connector softly while pulling should release it.

Do not know how to find a repair in your area, but here is what is wrong:
The cooling coils, located behind the back wall of the freezer section, have frosted up, preventing the normal flow of air. Now, some of the cold air in the freezer is sinking and flowing into the bottom of the fresh foods section through the air vent by the bottom bin. To fix this, disconnect power to the refrigerator and unload the freezer side. Remove the panel at the back of the freezer section and melt all the frost and ice. Replace the heater at the bottom of the cooling coils, which would normally take care of the frost build up. Reassemble and restore power.

you can find your model number behind the drawer
sometimes it is on the back side of the drawer front

Don't know why repairman couldn't order parts you have your model #. The model # is the JKP45WV1WW, The part # is WB26K5030 for the lock motor.

unfortunately there are hundereds of ge microwave/oven combs that start with jkp85. do you know what part hes looking for? some parts are more common than others. i have many sources for part number if i know what he needs i can try to give you the number
