I have had my Kindle attached to the plug-in charger (which was plugged in) all day, and it is telling me that the battery is too low. I have also had it hooked up via the USB to the computer for the last 20 minutes and it is still telling me to charge it for at least 15 minutes. What the heck is going on?

I guess you're trying to eject the Kindle from the task bar "(safely remove hardware". Try going into Start/Computer/right click on Kindle/ select eject. This worked for me when I had the same problem.

Sounds like your power cord is dead and that it's not charging. If it's new bring it back to the store you bought it from and get a new one.
