Acer overhead projector is covered in white dots

The DLP chip is starting to go bad, and unfortunately the only fix to have it replaced.

Hello i got issue with white and black dots on ACER X1260.
The orignal parts was a 1079-6319W...
I tryed to put on a 1079-6329W supposed to be compatible.
I got white vertical lines on screen and no more pixel dead, this reference seems not compatible ( i think its 18W->19W ; 28W ->29W only).

I tryed to clean up with KF special contact F2, chip pins, socket, cards connectors, but nothing worked, still vertical white lines with 1079-6329W chip ( instead of 1079-6319W).

I hope this can help everyone in trouble with Acer X1260 and other.

Need more info. But initial suspicion is there is a problem with your projector.

Are they stationary and always in the same position? You may have bad pixels.

Are the dots there with no signal going to the projector?

What is connected the the projector? Detail the video path - try all the sources. The dots still there and in the same position on all sources?

It is probably your projector.

If some of your sources are fine - the problem might be from a connected source.

Jacob, what element on the mainboard is the source of these dots? I have the same problem - it is only one dot now, but I think there will be more with time.
Also, the second question is: how do I unscrew the mainboard from benq W600+? I remoced the metal cover, unplugged all the cables, but there's something still not letting the board go.

You will most likely have to get the DMD chip replaced. I suggest you get a quote from the local Acer agent as to how much it would cost for this repair.

I have the same problem. All of a sudden there are plenty white dots all around the screen. As if 1/3 of the pixels are burnt. It cannot be the lamp because it is still as bright as before. It must be the internal screen or whatever. The "Troubleshooting" section of the user manual does not mention such thing.

make a cleaing, if it still is full white dots, it should be problem of DMD chips,

buy a 8060-6038B DMD chips and instal it. only cost USD184
