What could be the cause and solution to battery drain on my Olympus FE-110?

If I put in fully charged batteries within a very short space of time the battery icon indicates they are low on power and the camera goes on shut down. However if I put the same batteries in my other camera an Olympus X64 the battery icon for that camera shows they are charged and the camera works well.

Rechargeable batteries can also be a problem. Because they work in other devices, it does not mean that they will work in the camera.

You've likely got a problem with the internal battery sensing hardware. I had a similar problem with a small Canon and solved it by getting a new camera for way less money that having the old one fixed.

Camera retracts it's lens and turns itself off about 10 seconds after I turn it on

Have you fully charged the battery? if it is a new camera or battery,it needs at least 12 hrs of charge,to maintain good charge, if only a short time of charge was given from new the life of the battery will be greatly re-juiced,try a new battery with a full charge, if this fails your camera is probably faulty, take it back to get a replacement.

Triumph Trophy 1200.... The battery is drained of power, so much that while I am riding it at hwy speed the bike shuts down. I have a trickle charger on the battery making sure it is fully charged before...

You have a pretty heavy drain on your battery. Find the fuse box. Remove all the fuses. With volt/ohm meter, read each fuse socket to find which one is drawing the power - when you find it ... investigate the circuit to find the short.

It may be that you are not making power ... your rectifier may be shorted which not only prohibits charging ... in some circumstances, it will actually cause a short to ground.

Not coming on with new batteries (have tried several new batteries)

this problem seems to be caused by a faulty battery protection switch fault, which is situated in the battery compartment.

Red Flash mark while taking photo

It sounds to me like you are not waiting for the camera to charge the flash when turning the camera on or between shots. It seems you are using 1700mAh batteries and most modern digital cameras are better off using 2500mAh batteries. Your camera was released in September 2006 so it is considered "modern". With 1700mAh batteries, your flash (warm-up) recycle time time will be rather long or the amperage may not be enough to fully charge the flash unit. I highly recommend Duracell 2500mAh rechargeable batteries.

Camera batteries drain quickly

Open the battery door and check the contact between the camera and the batteries. Most often then not there is just a bad contact and it's ruinning your baterry life.
Make sure that the contact are well placed and that there is no rust or dirt build up around there.
