Hi,
With a new bag in the compartment, Turn the dial on the top of the vacuum all the way in the opposite direction and try it again. If it still persists, the control valve that you're turning most likely needs cleaned or replaced. I can help with that.
Hope it helps. [email protected]

SOURCE: Lux5000 will run until hose is attached, then

Experienced the same problem, just fixed it! Lift up the control dial on top of canister. You will see two small clear hoses inside. Detach the hose going to the "bag full" sensor light. It'll fix the problem!

SOURCE: Bag was full, changed it, the unit now turns off

Try dialing the control valve to the mid way position. If the unit still shuts down with the bag full light on you have a damaged control valve under the dial on the top of the vac.
This valve failure is common in this model and can only be repaired by someone with original AERUS Electrolux repair parts, generally at an AERUS repair shop.

Where is the CVA located in the Electrolux Epic 6500SR?

You need to replace the control valve. It's inside the canister under the dirt cup. If you want it done by a professional, call your local authorized Aeurus dealer.

Machine running hot. new bag but red flag indicator is fully closed at stsrt up. Runs but overheats and shuts off and red reset light comes on

you may have a blockage in either the hose, the telescopic wand or the power nozzle/floor attachment. The easiest way to tell, as you have a new bag in there is to disconnect the hose and start the machine. If the suction is good there, start to narrow it down. Take apart the hose from the telescopic wand, take the attachment off and look through the wand. Look in the connection on the attachment as well. If not there, look inside both ends of the hose, you may need a flashlight for this, and see if there is anything blocking there.

If the hose is blocked, you can try to unblock it by turning the machine on and inserting the handle into the machine where the hose would attach to the unit. Sometimes this reverse of suction is enough to dislodge whatever is in the hose.

Good luck

Sounds like you have a blockage. Check your attachment hose by dropping something through it, if it is all clear, then check your duct hose, this is the hose at the base of the cleaner. Many times this will clog and you might have suctionat your hose, but if there is a clog here, it will shut off due to no airflow to the motor which causes the cleaner to overheat and shut off with the thermostat. Hope this info was what fixesya! Thanks, Let me know, please! Rene(the VAcuum Doctor)

There is a vacuum hose that attaches inside the unit to a round clear plactic piece. In most cases you can simply cut the small vacuum hose and it will fix the problem.

Connecting hoses on Kirby G4

The hose attaches in place of the beater-bar head unit. To remove the head unit, lift the headlight assembly, then turn the square gray Kirby emblem counter-clockwise 3/4 of the way around until the red triangle on the square portion aligns with the red triangle on the base unit (this disengages the belt). Then flip the silver metal fastener that was underneath the headlight to release the head unit and remove the head unit. To attach the hose, simply line it up so that the safety button is engaged by the hose assembly and then use the metal fastener under the headlight to secure the hose to the base unit.
