Hello,
I'm a 100% certain your LCD panel is bad, I've run across a lot of Sony/Samsung's with the same problem. It can be fixed but involves taking the TV apart. I have 5 flat screens in my home, 3 of them had the same problem yours had, I patched them and they are working fine! A replacement panel will cost more than a new TV set so that's not an option. If you do no wish to fix, I would suggest putting it on Craigslist as a parts unit, someone will buy it. If I have been a help to you please sign my guest book

It sounds like one of your circuit boards may be going out. I'm sorry I don't have a better response than that.

wow. mostly all new set from the last few years have a dual tuners
NTSC and ATSC and that would depend if or which set will get the better signal. Also remember that off air is analog and the sets are now design for digital.

Failure of the vertical deflection module/circuit. The tv will have to be opened, the vertical deflection circuit found and replaced.
Definitely a job for a pro - the circuit is going to be extremely difficult to extract. The repair will cost you about $200: $20 for a new circuit and $90 per hour for the 2 hour job.
