You will have to take off the back of the TV set to reach the board. The board looks like the one at; http://www.shopjimmy.com/lg-6632l-0604a-backlight-inverter.htm

Try the video also.

I was referring to watching the video at the ShopJimmy.com website. Sorry for the confusion.

SOURCE: Inverter opertion

Hello davidweldon,

If the inverter board is bad, I would suggest that you replace the whole board unless you have a SMD (Surface Mounted Device) rework station, and a background in electronics. I have worked on TVs where people have tried to remove SMDs and it never is an easy thing to do, so I would again suggest that you replace the whole board, because all of the components are SMDs.

Now as to your question, I have seen on these sets the majority of the time it is a driver transistor that goes bad.

I hope this helps,

Thank you,

SOURCE: My tv went completely out. Is there a reset button

Try unplugging it. That is usually the reset.

Sanyo 42'flat screen model DP42841 makes noise when you turn it on

If still under warranty then call them about it. If not then try and determine where the noise is coming from. I suspect it could be the power supply area. Most of these modern sets are only a few boards that can be replaced. It's just a question of determining which one.

HDMI input works ok. Hooked up external antenna. Did channel scan. It will only scan for analog channels. Has analog raster on screen. It has no information on menu page for digital channel scan.

do you have the air option in the scan menu see
http://tv.manualsonline.com/manuals/mfg/sanyo/dp42841.html
page 9 important fact cable digital gets wiped by air digital channels

You may be able to get around this via a digital hd tv decoder box and then have it on a hdmi input on the TV as a backup to the cable if you can't have both cable digital channels stored and aerial digital channels stored

Sanyo dp42841 no picture

Sounds like either the CCFL for your LCD TV has blown (It's basically a miniature florescent tube) or the inverter that drives it has given up.

Have a look on Ebay for replacement parts and to see if you feel confident enough to tackle the job yourself.

My sanyo tv dp42841 comes on in about 30 menites goes black and makes loud nouse

This is likely the tuner board over heating and clicking off by instructing the power board to trip the relay. The solution is to check that you have TV ventilation to control the heat. Try using a fan on the back of the TV to see of the TV stays on longer.

Check all the cable connections to audio board for any loose connection. During long term storage, this might have happen. Reset all that cables comes to go out from it. If it do not help you, check the speakers. If all found OK, replace the audio output card. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/Pull up older posts. Check the site in 'Mosaic' view.It will make search easy.
