Long beep at power up

it seem you have a problem with your keyboard. probably the keyboard shorted by water or u accidentally drop something on to your keyboard. try to remove your keyboard from your laptop, see if the beep sound is still ringing or not. u can use the utility manager inside the window until u replaced the keyboard or u can buy an external usb keyboard. good luck

6 BEEPS ON DELL MOTHERBOARD REV A00

6 beeps on POST indicates a keyboard error. As virtually all BIOS require the keyboard, it is one error that cannot be bypassed in most BIOS. Is your keyboard connected properly?

Have a Intell D865PERL getting either 6 or 7 beeps when booting, can't be sure which. System will not boot but just beep with PS2 keyboard installed but will boot with keyboard removed. BIOS is version...

It's likely a bad keyboard- try using either an usb keyboard or another ps2 keyboard- if it works and boots normally with a different keyboard, the issue was the bad keyboard. If not, then the ps2 port has gone bad. (you could still use usb)

3 long beeps (keyboard?) and no video. Tried a second keyboard, same result. Keyboards work with other machine.

This information will help you out on the POS beep codes.

i suspect that its not on the keyboard but if you have keyboard card, thats the problem . Try to check your motherboard if it beeps without any memory.
If it beeps then probably your motherboard is ok. Try to change your video card if you have an extra, but dont buy yet, unless you already proved that your video card works.

Keyboard beeps when any key is pressed

The reason these beeps are happening is because there might be a key that is slightly depressed enough to where its registering keystrokes. Move your fingers all over the keyboard and see if you the beeps stop after you do that. If it still is going on then that means your keyboard is bad and will need to be replaced.
