It's meant to tell the operator that the bowl is not in proper operating position. If the bowl is in the proper position then the bowl in switch may be bad.

If you have a KitchenAid range, the F2 E1 code indicates a keypad problem. If it recurs and continues to give the error after you press Cancel, then you will address the issue. The cake pan position has very little to do with the error.

The fix could be as simple as finding a damaged conductor in the wiring harness and using a conductive silver pen (or use the rear window defrost repair kit liquid applied with a needle and not a wide brush) to repair the break. On some ranges you might need to replace the keypad. Other models have the keypad integrated into the ERC (clock and entire control panel).

My wife's bosch mixer had a similar problem but it was a very loud grating problem. I talked to the bosch dealer in Utah, sorry, I've forgotten which one-- the one that does the repair. This is typically what happens: the seal on the blender wears out, which results in fluids from the blender dripping into the motor, onto the upper motor bearing. So, the upper bearing corrodes and is what is causing the bearing failure and the loud noise (needed hearing protection to operate it). I was lamenting the cost and time it would take to ship the mixer both directions (not actually that much compared to the price of the mixer), and he said he would sell me the bearing and the bottom replacement part of the blender that was leaking. So, I did the repair myself, but it took awhile, and I had to build a puller for the bearing to get it off the shaft, modifying a harbor freight gear puller. But it now is back to new. So, it was a success for me, but i would recommend anyone who isn't very mechanical to just send it off to Utah (again, I forgot the place, I think they talk about the shop in one of the other posts), and you will have a better than new machine.

Are you sure the motor is bad?

I know what these codes are: code 19 is that phase c is over current fault and code 23 is a motor stall fault.I would start by making sure you 3 phase wiring going into the mixer is there.I service these mixers as im a service tech for hobart.these units are very detailed and i can walk you thru some things to check but if you have an electrical problem you most likley will have to call a hobart service tech because we have special equipment to diagnose the fault.let me know it may be something simple as these mixers are usally maintenance free.
