Old Betamax Sony SL2300 Possible Tracking problems

I had a similar problem that happened to my old Betamax camcorder. The only way that the pinch roller can be replaced is the whole cassette mechanism had to be replaced which was way too expensive and not worth the fix. And that was coming from a Sony certified repair shop.

One among it has general set-up codes to check with TVs and other devices are given, in the order of the 'device's brand name list' in alphabetical order. Pull up older posts. Sorry. There is no set-up codes for Sony Betamax with this remove control. If you wish to buy its original remote control, contact the authorized service centre, or authorized dealer to your device brand.
To select a proper universal remote control, you should know about the number of digits to its set-up codes. There are 3 digit, 4 digit, 5 digit, 2 digit and even single digit codes, to some brand devices. After confirming this, check the sites linked here. Both the sites have set-up code list and set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. Check which brand remote control has set-up code/s to your device brand, and buy that one according to availability? Brand name of the remote control isn't a matter, but it should have set-up codes in its code list, to the device you have.
Please note: Every new universal remote control will have set-up code list, and set-up procedure along with its user manual. Never accept a remote control, that hasn't both of this. If you see the site by "MOSAIC" view, will make surf easier.

It could be some kind of tracking problem. The cause could be dirt on the tape head, or perhaps something worn such as a drive belt etc. Check to see if it gets worse or better with the cassette nearly at the end of the tape or at the start of it. Indicating a tape tension problem, on the reels or drive.

You need to adjust the tracking, at the very least. Get a user's manual and it will describe the procedure to adjust the wheels to keep the blade tracking properly. If it's a used saw, it's possible the previous owner didn't maintain it properly and you'll have to replace the rubber, or even a wheel (possible but very unlikely).

Changing the name and extension number can be done through system admin programming from a phone extension allowed by the class of service assigned to that extension by the phone system installer. Typically the attendant phone is allowed this ability. From the programming phone press **1234(1234 is the default password) to access programming. Once in programming dial 003 for extension numbering then press . Enter the current extension number of the phone you want to change followed by the new extension number then press . Lift the handset to end programming. Access programming again by pressing **1234. Dial 004 for extension name programming then press . Enter the new extension number you programmed then enter the name for the extension. Press then lift handset to end programming.

It is possible that your phone has not been assigned an extension number, in that case system installer programming would need to be accessed to assign the port an extension number. The port number the phone is connected to would have to be determined. This could require tracking the wiring back to where it is connected into the phone system. If this is the case I advise calling a qualified service technician.

Betamax machines are obsolete so getting hold of the parts is the biggest problem. However your best course of action might be to look at the many websites that have been set up by the enthusiastic people that Betamax attracts. If they can't help you no-one can.

This is a Sony Professional Product and I expect it has manual selection of channels, (not remote controlled). Replace all of the faulty buttons. They are similar to the tuning/channel change buttons that were used on the Sony C7 Betamax Video recorders and about £0.88p each, if you can find anyone who has still got some.

If you are using a Micro SD card, you are using the wrong one. Unfortunately, Sony has a vested interest in promoting their own proprietary formats, (anyone remember BetaMax?), and the TM506 is no exception. This phone uses a Sony Memory Stick Micro (M2). You may obtain these in most camera, computer and electronic stores that sell Sony products. SanDisk also makes the M2 cards. Not sure if other memory card makers do as well.
