You must wire Orange from heatpump low voltage wire to gether with your yellow s and you must have a common wire usealy common comeing out of heatpump should be black color than what ever color wire you have connected to common at t-stat and airhandler connect that to black wire at heatpump. To make sure blablack I s common follow wire up to board and it will be connected to C terminal now you will have ac all time. If you want heat remve Orange wire from reds at heatpump and you will get heat only.note when doing your wireing make sure high voltage is off to heatpump and airhandler hope this helps

check the startup capacitor to the compressor

R= power in G= fan Y= cooling W=heat O= heatpump reversing valve C= common used for clock on chronotherm Usually its pretty streight forward wire for wire. Unless you have a heatpump. The thermostat has to be heatpump compatable. And I ll usually use the 8000 for this. The w and y jumper may not be necesary on the new thermostat as the new one should do it internally once programed as a heatpump thremostat. At least thats how the 5000 and 8000 sreies work. So imagine the 7000 would be the same. You may also have to program the reversing valve operation not all manufactuers do it the same . Some valves have to be powered for heat while others have to be powered for cooling. Good luck

hi,is this a heatpump or a ac unit only...if a heatpump ,there is a valve that switchs from heat tocool mode...go outside with unit running..put hand on big copper line,if it is hot your in heat mode..if cold your in cool mode....possible stuck change over valve if a heatpump...hope this helps...good luck...michael doctor airr appl.repair..843-384-8474...if need more assitance..call..its free...good luck

In some models the air conditioning system and the heating system are separate and you need to switch off the aircon if you use the heater. Or if it is a heatpump system, the fan will switch off while it is in reverse cycle allowing pressure to build up and heat to be generated in the evaporator side. This is particularly true if you change directly from cooling to heating.

Check and see if they have solenoid valves on each and if they have tx valves or cap tubes to meter refrigerant. txv could be bad, solenoid not opening or even low on freon, Sounds like valve is not opening or dead power head on txv.

Go up top and start taking apart after ya replace the motor clean the condenser and evaporator best performance .Tom

410a system is a higher efficiency unit that has a larger outdoor coil and inside evaporator coil.also the copper line coming from outside are larger one size in diameter. thats almost 12 lbs. sounds like you have a 5 ton system

Try this.

A T-stat.

Orange = O
Red = R (with existing jumper)
Black = C
Yellow = Y
White =W1 (Or AUG)
Green =G

At airhandler/furnace.

Green = blower wire (usually green, double check with schematic)
(Green should not go to the HP.)
Orange to HP
Red to red and to HP
black to blue (or C) and to HP
White to W
Yellow to HP. (It may also go to a "float switch" if installed. but that will just be a safety switch on the drain pan in case the line clogs and it overflows.)

The green is typically used for the blower motor. (furnace only)

The orange is used for the reversing valve. (changes from AC to heat, is located in the HP only)

Blue is typically used for common (or "C") but they may have changed it to black due to a broken wire, or other problems.

The only wires going to the HP should be
Red
Blue/black
orange
yellow

Orange should not be going to the furnace at all.

HP wiring should be
Orange to orange or O
Red to R or red
Blue/black to blue or C
Yellow to Y
