I believe you may be on the right track. Usually the coil for the water is behind the crispers. You can try taking the crispers out and use a hairdryer on air/no heat to speed up the coil thawing out.

Frozen water tank, some of these had an insulation kit that will prevent this from happening. Make sure you have water coming out of valve to tank, if so it will probley be a frozen tank. Make sure fridge is on factory settings. If it doesnt thaw out, check into the frozen tank kit...

check the over-load/contactor on the side of the compressor,remove it and shake it if it rattles,replace it

This is an error code for the icemaker fan motor.
If the control does not see a signal coming back from the fan motor you will get this error code.

The ER IF code indicates a failure of the icing fan.

You may notice slower ice production but the other fans should be okay.

You can select the ultra ice option and see if the fan toggles on.

The fan or the control is bad.
