Do you know the password? If you don't put the correct password in, it will not log you on.

Check dell's website for audio driver. also can look up the manufacture's name of the sound card on device manager under the control panel.

My best idea would be to take that info (pci 8 bus etc.) and post it on the forums at Dell, specifically the forums for the Inspiron 1501.

reinstall the driver or either defragment by simply clicking on ur start button,go to accesories,tools and select the drive and then reinstall

Yes, On your Laptop there is a folder in C:\ (root) called DELL
Inside Is another folder called DRIVERS
Inside this folder are drivers for MB, NIC, USB, Video and (applause) Soundcard and Modem

They may have cryptic numbers, but can by launched without fear.

Pay attention WHERE Dell sticks them (or type your own path by hand) and tick the box at the bottom left to Run setup after unzipping.

Well firstly you should have a DVD or CD with the operating system you own on it. The driver's REALLY should be located there. (If you own a legal copy of the OS, otherwise I can't legally help you)
