I have a marshall MG100HDFX that I'm trying to fix for a buddy. Apparently he ran another amp's output INTO the speaker output of the MG100. Where is a good place to start looking for problems?

Some of the Marshall equipment uses computer size fans and even on occasion the same connection.
Take the bad fan with you to a computer repair shop it will be much cheaper than a marshall part they should be able to help you out

You'll have to take it in to get it repaired. From what you described it sounds like you blew the output stage out. You can't run from your speaker output jack into the input jack of another amp. You should go out of the recording out, line out, effects out or in the least case your headphone out. What happens usually is your output transformer short circuits due to a mismatch of impedances. It sounds like you still have a transformer though so you might have gotten lucky. You will need to take it in though. Sorry.

Assuming that you have a single point speaker system, (or piggyback speakers) use the mono output, otherwise, the tone modifications that you apply to one of the channels, wont be heard. The two channels have independent setups.

if it has effects on it, you may require two cabinets for the stereo effects. in the truest sense of stereo is what i mean.
