SOURCE: Electrolux Lux 7000 retractable power cord

The trim pieces along the sides just pull off seperating the two housings. The back portion where the retract drum is is held by two plastic tangs on top inside. use a screwdriver to pry the ring down to dislodge the tangs. the bottom part will lift off. remove the front part using two screws just below the hinge. the retract has a long coil spring wound around a free spinning hub. there are two "tangs" inside that engage a ratchet-pawl assembly. you'll need to rotate the drum to rewind the spring onto its hub.

SOURCE: Plastic Slides

use a screwdriver to pry up one end. there's a little nubbie that snaps into the canister, then its just a matter of pulling the strip off.
the back part with the rewind has two snaps on top internally. use a screwdriver to pry the back part down and out both sides and the rewind will come out.

SOURCE: power cord won't retract on

What you can do is take out the six hex screws on the bottom of the machine while on it's back. When all the screws are out, flip the machine back over, making sure you don't lose any of the screws. From there, open the bag cover and leave it open. Remove the cord release button. (The big rectangular button near the rear of the machine. Usually a firm pull up will get that thing out without incident.) Grasp the handle with one hand and hold the machine steady with the other. With a firm pull, pull upwards. This should seperate the chassis from the main cover.

With the machine guts exposed, place the main cover on the side for now. Now, this next part you can do one of two ways. You can either leave the cordwinder wires attached, (there's only 2 connected wires to the cordwinder, the white and black. Black is on the inside prong while the white is on the outside) or you can take the wires off. I find it easier to disconnect the wires.

Now, remove the cordwinder from it's place, making sure you take note of how the cordwinder rests in the groove from the motor. From there you can rewind your cord fully. Once this is complete, continue winding the cord while holding the cord in place. Take note of the spring. Make sure you are winding in the direction that is TIGHTENING the spring. Make sure you don't overtighten as the center plastic piece will surely snap due to the overtension. This may take a few tries, but be patient. Once you have met your estimated tension needed, replace the cordwinder, put the cover back on WITHOUT SCREWING IT BACK IN PLACE and replace the cord rewind button.

Replace the large cord release button and pull your cord out at least halfway. Hit your Cord rewind button. If your cord rewinds fully, congratulations, you got it in one try. Replace the screws and you are finished. If not, re-open the machine and continue rewinding the cord in the direction that TIGHTENS the spring with emphasis on overtightening. Once you break that center plastic prong, you need to buy a new cordwinder, so emphasize patience. If you're getting frustrated, go take a break and come back. Repeat until the cord winds fully, replace all the screws and you are finished.

SOURCE: I have an electolux [ lux classic] vacuum cleaner,

Does the green power light located on the top of the vac come on with the cord plugged in the outlet ? If so your switch could be bad. If not, you could have a bad connection or a broken wire. Caution ! If you do get into the vac, you can cause more damage to the vac. Is the vac more than five years old. If not, your vac is still under waranty and you should get it fixed for free. Take it back to you Aerus/Electrolux shop. You can find out if the unit is still under waranty by calling the customer service with the serial number. They can tell you. 1-800-243-9078.
If you still want to get into the vac (which I do not recommend) let me know and I will tell you.

360 manual

With all that's involved in replacing the cord and potential cord reel damage, it's more cost effective to just have the entire cord reel, complete with new cord, replaced. Less time consuming thus less costly to you. Hope it helps!

I have a electrolux 7000 my cord brok off and it got succked in. igot it apart. I DONY KNOW HOW TO PUT THE COIL SPRING ON THE POWER CORD WHEEL. NEED HELP

This is very difficult to reassemble correctly, and more difficult to explain properly. You need to take the vacuum to the nearest authorized Aerus Electrolux store for reassembly. Or call for free pick up and delivery.

Eletrolux lux7000 manu and how to retract the power cord?

For the user's/owner's manual, go to the below link, click on the arrow below where it says "Older Models", click on Lux 7000, click on "download". If you want a service manual, they are only available to Aerus Electrolux stores.
For retracting the cord, try tipping vacuum up on it's back end and gently pulling and releasing cord. This will often cause it to retract. If not, keep in mind that the canister portion of this vacuum has a 7 year warranty on it, so depending on when you purchased it, the cordwinder may still be covered. The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, or abuse. There are other things that will void the warranty.
