It sounds like the remote you have, the JVC 076D0FB010, does not have the capability to program future recordings on your JVC HR-XVC1U or HR-XVC27U machines. This feature is typically called "timer recording" or "scheduled recording," and it is controlled by the VCR's built-in programming features, rather than by the remote.
You may want to check the user manual for your JVC HR-XVC1U and HR-XVC27U machines to see if there is a way to set timer recordings using the VCR's own controls. If the manual does not provide instructions for timer recording, it is likely that this feature is not available on your VCRs.
Alternatively, you can consider purchasing a universal remote that has the ability to program future recordings. Some popular universal remotes include the Logitech Harmony and the Philips Universal Remote Control.
Unfortunately, the JVC LP21036-038 remote can only control JVC devices. It doesn't have any adjustable codes. You can choose between 3 codes (A, B, and C) so that using 3 JVC video devices doesn't result in conflicts. This remote came with the JVC HR-XVC14BU among other devices. The manual for the VCR/DVD player is available from JVC support. The direct link to the manual is http://resources.jvc.com/Resources/00/00/90/LPT1148-001A.pdf . See page 17 of the manual for the details.
I'd recommend you get a cheap universal remote to control the Samsung TV and the JVC vcr/dvd player.
There isn't a standalone manual for this remote. It is not a programmable remote. It is the basic operation remote supplied with JVC VCR models:

You could go download the manual for one of these VCR and read through the relevant sections. All they'll do though is tell you how the VCR operates from the remote.
The 076N0ES010 came with two different JVC VCRs (HR-A591U and HR-A592U). The remote does not come with multiple codes and will only control JVC TVs. It's possible that it will not control JVC TVs after the VCRs were made (2003 is the listed release date for the HR-A592U). The manual for the HR-A591U is here: http://resources.jvc.com/Resources/00/00/98/82885ien.pdf . See page 11 of the pdf.
You will need a different universal remote to control the VCR and the TV together. Alternatively, control each device separately.
