ASUS P5KPL-AM -> CHASSIS INTRUDED

Good afternoon My startup shows the message "CHASSIS INTRUDED....SYSTEM HALTED" In the BIOS, there's no option for "SYSTEM SECURITY" or "ADVANCED BIOS FEATURES", so i cant change any options for able or disable anything about the sensor of opened chassis.. Anyway, the jumper is in the right position for DEFAULT to not display this message. So, what I cant do ? I'm losing my mind .. Please, show me the light for this .. Thanks

Hi, have you got this board installed in a case, with all the connections made? Usually there's a two pin connector to a microswitch that detects if the case is open. If you can identify that on the board you can short the switch, fooling the system into thinking the case is closed, to get inot the bios etc.

    Apologies; you've already found this. If you've made this connection then it should boot. If not, remove non-essential components until it boots (drives, RAM, fans). This may well be a dodgy cpu or case fan, causing this error.

    So SXTechHead, I thank you for your suggestion, but i'm trying to make this mobo runs only with the memories plugged, just for test..

SOURCE: chassis intruded... fatal error.. system halt..

If your case is not setup for chassis intrusion, the motherboard has dropped a jumper.
The location is by the last PCI slot between the CD audio connector and the USB bus plug. (it is right next to the CLRTC jumpers)

Good luck

Chassis intrusion

You need to check the chassis intrusion pin setting located on the motherboard. See page 1-30 (Number 11) in your manual.
You need to add a jumper as shown.
The system should no longer halt.

Cheers!

Chassis Intruded, Fatal Error...System Halted

you need to go into the bios of your pc.....usually pressing the delete key when you see the first logo screen after booting up....look for a section that relates to errors and what the bios is supposed to do when it encounters an error.
i.e if you see a line in the bios that says "halt on all errors" disable it and when you next boot up the bios will not stall.
