Opening RIF files
Did your computer fail to open a RIF file? We explain what RIF files are and recommend software that we know can open or convert your RIF files.
What is a RIF file?
The .rif file extension is most commonly used for Painter raster image files. These files are created by the Corel Painter image editing application. The RIF files contain raster graphics, floating objects and other image properties. The RIF file format allows a user to keep the actual image painting separate from the canvas of the image so the canvas can be edited at a later time.
The .rif file extension is also used for Resource Interchange File Format bitmap image files, Rockwell ADPCM format files, FutuRUG encrypted resident information files and MicroTik RouterOS dump files.
