Why can't I get sound on radio setting or any other setting?

Ummmm....the radio is at least 14 years old...ya think? They originally had a one-year warranty on them unless you purchased the 3 year warranty. In a word...no.

Changing the type of fuses in your receiver will not change your sound quality at all.

The broadcaster of the TV station has to tell you they are transmitting surround sound - sometimes they are just transmitting stereo. Also, the media as in CD's and DVD movies must have surround sound embedded or recorded on it to allow surround sound.

you need to firstly trace the speaker wires to the unit to make sure there connected first. if they are then its a job for a car audio expert ( if there is such a thing) if the unit is connected to correctly to the speakers then there is an internal fault ..

check for bad solder connection on bottom of the main board near front center of unit

You have a few options: check with your local radio dealer or radio shack store for a similar speaker, purchase another used T250 radio via ebay or other source, or simply retire the T250 and purchase another low cost TalkAbout radio. All these radios operate on the same 14 FRS frequencies. Motorola has never supplied parts for this line of consumer radios. They had a replacement warranty, then following the expiration of your warranty they were considered disposable/replaceable. Sorry.

Yes, there is something you can try, to know where to look for the problem if this happens again. If the receiver is still under warranty, just send it back, otherwise, open up the amp and trace the path back from the speaker channel to the capacitors on each channel, this is usually the problem(you should be able to see if it is blown, cheap to repair).

If all the channels went out at the same time, there is something wrong with the central unit, to repair that, if it is not the above problem, cost expensive.

You gots ta isolate the problem.  Disconnect the speakers and hook them up to a stereo you know that works.  If you don't hear sound coming out of the speakers, then you know the speakers are fu.k.d up, so you need to look on the speakers to see if there is a fuse that is blown that needs to be replaced.  If you got sound coming through, then disconnect them and hook them back to the original stereo making sure you got a good connection and all the wires are in good and tight.  Then turn your stereo on and go through the various channels like Tuner, Tape Deck, Aux, and DVD to see if you get any sound.  Also turn the volume knob up. If you don't get any sound after all this, you know there is something wrong with the stereo your using.

The OEM speakers will still work OK with your new Pioneer. Just don't turn it up too loud. Of course you'll get improved sound if you replace the speakers. Your Pioneer's RMS power is 14 watts, and the peak (maximum) power is 50 watts. The door speakers in a 2000 Honda Civic are 6.5" and you can get a set of Pioneer speakers, the TS-G1642R's, from Crutchfield for less than $50. Their RMS power range is 2-30 watts and they can handle a peak power of up to 180 watts.

Before you do anything else, make sure no tiny strands of speaker wire from one channel haven't got in contact with the speaker wires from the other channel. Check first on the back of the receiver, then at the back of each speaker.This can cause the circuit breakers for that channel to shut it off when there is audio. It can also blow the fuses inside your receiver. It only takes one tiny strand to blow your amp.
