Sound drivers in cq45 -137tx for xp os

OS xp doesnt come with sound drivers. U have to install sound drivers for ur system. see if u have it in ur motherboard cd, or else u have to download.
OS vista & win7 comes with sound drivers already.

Go to support.hp.com and type your model, then go to download and drivers.

u intall win xp sp2 never install vista xp then this error not show because vista xp not install audio driver properly plzzzz intalll sp2 win xp thx

ya thats bad onbord u will wann disable onbord sound card in bios then go store buy x fi pci card sound blaster makes that be more copatible with no ererros and sound way nice rthen any onbord sound can do thx nick

Unfortunately there are no audio drivers for xp on that particular model laptop. Here is the link for the vista drivers though.

You can try it but the sound card is not designed for XP so it probably will not work. If you want to use XP on this laptop and have sound you will have to purchase a cheap external USB sound device like this:

It costs $9.99 and has free shipping. It has 5.1 surround sound and microphone input too. It is the only way to go if you want to run XP. Please take the time to rate this a fixya. I searched for an hour trying to find an xp driver that would work for you but there is not even a hacked on available yet. There are diehard XP gurus out there writting homebrew XP drivers but they have not made it around to this one yet. The external is a good workaround till then and its only 10 bucks.

You haven't listed the exact model but if you go to this site you will be able to find it

Go to 'get support' at the top the page, then select 'software and driver downloads' and enter the model of your laptop. You will be able to browse the exact model of your laptop, then choose Windows Vista and the audio driver will be listed normally at the top.

This will show all the drivers for the OS Win XP, for you're Satellite A105-S2071. From time to time a driver will not install correctly. This means either the driver is not correct or windows is just being stuborn. Running the .exe usually installs the software but other times the driver must be installed through device manager. (The correct driver). The link above shows me the sound driver files name is (sa100audiox.exe)
(Realtek Audio Driver for Windows XP (v5.10.0.5188; 12-06-2005; 22.98M)
Creat a folder on you're desktop & name it Realtek Driver.
Download the driver file into this folder & uncompress the .exe by double clicking on it.
Try installing normally. Than re-start the system. Test you're sound. If you're sound still does not function, install through device manager. Right click on My computer icon. Slide down to & left click properties. Click the hardware tab, than click the device manager button. Scroll down to & click the + sign next to sound, audio and game controller. (It may already be opened).
Right click once on the yellow ! point & left click update driver.
Show windows the way to the folder you created on you're desktop & click ok. Windows hardware wizard should install the the correct software you have givin it.

This card is not supported by xp and is too old to get a driver for.
