Hi james lamark, I want to help you with your problem, but I need more information from you. Can you please add details in the comment box? For example, when the lift control lever is engaged, does it chatter? can it be engaged, is there resistance?

This is a kitchen device (mixer). I suggest you stop trying to use it as a medical device.

Kenwood chef keeps curdling eggs

Put water in Kenwood and a bowl inside the Kenwood to hold eggs. Eggs need to be done SLOWLY. Can also add a LITTLE water to aggs as they cook to slow down curdling . Basically you need to turn Kenwood into a double boiler. Lift bowl with eggs in and out of Kenwood to control temperature and whisk away now under control. Lift bowl and cool and slow down cooking and lower back in water and Kenwood to hear back up. Keep whisking and lift and lower bowl as needed. Some melted butter doesn't hurt either!

Where on mixer is screw #36

Move the lock lever, lift the head up. Look directly from the front into the area where it hinges and you will see a single slotted screw, anti clockwise to raise the beater up. There is a huge difference between a bowl and your bowel.

Kitchenaid stand mixer bowl lift not working

Yikes!!! How old is your mixer? In most cases in a bowl lift model, the plastic lift mechanism breaks. It is not hard to fix or get fixed the parts are inexpensive and it is totally mechanical not electrical to fix. Go to kichenaid.com and then click on support the drop down menu will give you a selection to get manuals and user guides, click that selection, then you go to a page that will ask you for model number, look under your mixer and use the model number on the white sticker. you will be able to download the parts list for that model. The parts list will show how the lift mechanism operates and how the parts go together. the next page will give you a part number for the parts involved in the lift mechanism. Now go on ebay or amazon and type in the part numbers that you need, you will find almost every part involved in the lift mechanism, Now get a screwdriver a punch and a non metal hammer, once you have the part list and you see how it goes together you will be able to disassemble the lift and repair. you can fix it for about $15.00 and an hours time. That does not include the wait time for parts shipping to you, that will take about a week. You can also call kitchen Aid and see where your nearest approved repair center is and take or ship your system there, "for the price of your first born". But while you are there you can buy the parts that you need. There are not a lot of authorizes centers around every corner. if you have a warranty definitely call Kitchenaid, they have one of the best "No Hassle" exchange for another mixer programs in the biz. The negative is that it ABSOLUTELY ends on day 365 of your one year warranty.

Ogrin56,

The problem is in your lift handle cams, you need to take the pedistal apart and clean and grease all the cams. I take them apart and wire brush them and use white lithium grease to keep them from freezing up.

Mixer head loose

Turn the mixer upside down and you'll see the screws up inside that hold the head to the base. You'll need a long screw driver.

How do I remove the top of mixer to replace speed control lever?

In quick terms, first unplug it then remove the head. Take off the band, this is where the two halves join. Undo any screws holding the halves together. Remove the pin holding the planetary in place. Remove the trim disc. The planetary assembly lifts out but you may need to work around it carefully lifting it a little at a time.
