Every disc we put in says open and disc wont load

Might be to a broken loading belt, or damaged loading gear wheels. Check it. If gear wheel is faulty, it will be best to repalce the disc loading mechanism.

Replace your cd player. 15 minutes, 15 dollars.

it sounds like your laser is gone you can replace it if you have any knolage of opening a ps3 there are loads of videos of how to do this on youtube i my self had the same problem its not that hard to fix

open up your ps3 you tray might have broke or the game is stuck up to where it wont let you open it.

-check the time and date settings,even the time zone as well
-try to load the disc without the hard drive or memory unit
-look for corrupted files at the memory, delete it
-do the system maintainance,
system settings>>memory>>hardrive, press y for device options, press this in sequence x, x, Lb, Rb, x,x>>yes

This is probably problem with SATA cable. Try replacing it.

have you tried using the contropller to open the folder

You do have the disc? you have to use a program on the disc that converts videos into "smv"...it's on the disc, one of the options on the splash install menu.
