sounds as if you either have an improperly working thermostat. If this is new, the low voltage wire in the air handler may be improperly connected, or a bad sequensor.

SOURCE: my out side ac unit runs all the time

You have a low voltage short on the unit somewhere telling it to come on. Or the contactor on the outdoor unit is stuck closed. You can turn the power off to the unit ouside and open the cover. Look at the contactor and check to see if it is sooted or burnt. Those are the only two problems that it can be.

SOURCE: ac unit not turning on

Chances are your A/C unit can be repaired for a lot less than a new one -- I'd call for service.

You have to try resetting the system. First turn the breaker off for the condenser and wait about 20 seconds. After you turn it back on the system should reset. If you need any other AC Advice. Check us out online. WPB AC Repair.

AMANA AC WINDOW UNIT: IF IT WAS STORED ON ITS SIDE AND NOT UPRIGHT DO YOU WAIT TO TURN UNIT ON ONCE YOU HAVE RE-INSTALLED IT ??

Can't give you absolute factual answer to that question. Twenty four hours is actually longer than I would wait but if you want to be safe MY advice is to wait for 24 hours. Time cannot be turned back to undo mistakes. :-)

Air conditioner compressor doesn't work when i turn on the ac

There is a timer controlled relay in the system. The compressor does not turn on for at least a couple of minutes if the mains power has been lost. This is to prevent damage to the compressor from unreleased back pressure. Wait for this period. It it still does not switch on you might need to replace this relay or the thermostat.

I moved my air conditioning unit and water poured out of it. is that normal? and how long /should I wait before plugging it up again

This is fairly normal. What happened is that the unit was not in the window correctly and/or the drain hole(s) is(are) blocked. When the unit is installed, it should be tilted slightly away from the house. If it isn't shim it so it is. also, there should be holes on the bottom of it for the water to drain out. make sure they are not blocked. You do not have to wait to plug it in unless you had it turned in a direction other than right side up for a period of time.

Window Could not seart because the following file is missing or corrupt:\Windows\systems32\config\system

The operating system is corrupted. You'll have to do a fresh install using the disk that came with the laptop, or with a retail Windows disk from a store like Walmart. Sometimes, a computer repair store can get the data off the harddrive first.

I currently have two problems: The first is a minor pain, but, the fan on the ac/heater only operates on the two high settings. I've heard that there is a solenoid on the firewall that controls this...

Hi,
the simplest way to clear the AC issue, is to visit your local auto parts store and they will show you an 'exploded' diagram of the AC system and it's components. If you speak nicely they may well show you the actual controller. for the fan speeds.

The other method is to visit your local library and check a Mitchell repair manual, You can see the circuit wiring for the AC speed control /mode switch.

It sounds as if the control switch for the drivers window has malfunctioned. They, because they are used so mjuch, are generally the first to give problems.

If you remove the window operating switch unit, (very carefully) and remove the plug in control wires. Check the switch if it is held together by 4 small tangs. If so it is possible to very carefully separate the unit, and clean the internal contact with a glass "emery" (I know, a contradiction in terms) board which women use to shape their nails. Being made of glass paper, it will not leave a residue as emery cloth does. Assemble the switch and plug the power plug into the switch. Power on and operate the window. If successful your window will now operate. Refit the switch unit in it's original position. If the switch fails to power the window, I am afraid that your next choice will be a salvage yard, an auto parts store, or a dealership.

Prior to doing the above. It may be possible that the passengers side window operating switch , will swap out with the drivers window unit. Some do,....and some don't! It would be your call as to whether you try it.

Good luck.

Seal for roof top ac unit

I just spoke with the mechanic at my RV dealership and he said the sticky side goes on the a/c unit. You only have to turn it on it's side to do this. Just wait 1 hour after re-installing the unit on your RV before turning it on.
