How long should you wait after installing unit to turn it on if unit had been on its side instead of upright prior to installation?

The Amana AC Window Unit was laying on its side during the transport from store to home prior to installation so do you wait to power the unit on for a length of time because of this??...Should you wait a period of time before powering on unit because the unit was on its side and not in an upright position prior to the installation of unit??

SOURCE: Amana ac/heating unit model PGD60C1152E

It sounds like your blower is coming on before your heat. With gas if your unit is new enough, typically you have an ignition mode to start your heat process, flame recognition, and then full burners, heating up your heat exchanger, and then bringing on your blower. Your blower maybe controlled by a circuit board, just depends upon age of your system.

SOURCE: 2 problems.. AC Comp cuts out. And Fan will not stop.

Unit#2 -Sounds like the contacts on the master switch are welded closed or the switch is broken, Replacing the switch should fix this unit.
#1 is a little more difficult to diagnose. The compressor is being taken off line by a circuit that protects the compressor from damage either; 1- liquid refrigerant getting back to the compressor which can be caused by something as simple as a clogged return air filter or evaporator coil on a heat pump or 2- overload situation caused by a bad condenser motor or a clogged condenser coil. The first thing you need to do is clean both coils and replace the filter,. Then check to be sure your getting good airflow across both coils. I think it's most likely an airflow issue I hope this resolves the problem GL!

SOURCE: Does the lemon law cover air conditioning units?I

as a general rule the lemon law does not effect acs. because the equipment colud be at fault, or the installer couild be at fault , or the installation or application coiuld be at fault, or the power company could be at fault or the ductwork inadquete or undersized? so there are so many variables that a new ac may not fix your problem so they rarely ever provide new.now lets discuss your insatller or dealer. why are they saying the rev valve is bad? let me say covs Changeover valves usually do one of three things. they stick in cool and wont shift so youare stuck in cool or sruck in heat. when energized you hear no kawhoosh sound and compressor doesnt change pitch. then they are stuck in heat or cool. what they do sometimes is stick halfway and that gives a coolish suction and a coolish line to the house but not real cold. the hot gas line is only warm and the discharge line is onlty warm. this means its stuck halfway. some times you can disconnect the fan run the pressures way up and gently tap the valve and it will free up. but it nay stick agagin. the valves in the compressor may also be weak and be misdiagnosed as as half stuck covalve.. you could close off the liquid line and see if the compressor cah pump down to zero . if it can't then compressor maY BE BAD .when the unit was installed did they put in a liquidline drier to collect impurities and protect the valve? its pretty unusual to see a valve fail and if to much heat is applied on replacement then new valve can be damaged. good luck , oh you have the option of requesting a different dealer if it is brand name like trane or american std with a parts and labor warranty. most dealers can honor the other guys warranty and get paid by the factory if you have lost confidence in your guy. i am sure you know right away if you got a budget jack leg job or a pro . good luck.

SOURCE: heat pump outside unit not running

It sounds like your defrost board failed. You will need a tech to replace it. With that model it may have a parts warranty but you pay labor(?)

AMANA AC WINDOW UNIT: IF IT WAS STORED ON ITS SIDE AND NOT UPRIGHT DO YOU WAIT TO TURN UNIT ON ONCE YOU HAVE RE-INSTALLED IT ??

Can't give you absolute factual answer to that question. Twenty four hours is actually longer than I would wait but if you want to be safe MY advice is to wait for 24 hours. Time cannot be turned back to undo mistakes. :-)

We moved an Amana Fridge on it's side...how long should we wait before plugging it back in?

Anything with a compressor in it should always be left for 24 hours standing upright then you can plug it in

AC was working perfect before we moved recently. Now it's cooling is very slow? I wonder y?

Depending on how is was placed (Upright, on it's back, or lying flat, as if it was installed) could be the problem. If it was not lying in the same position, as it would be installed, the refrigerant gas ran back into the inner reaches of the compressor and has not returned to where it needs to be.This is usually referenced in the Owners Manual, prior to it being installed the first time. It probably said something to the effect of "allow the unit to sit in the installed position for 8 hours prior to operation". This would allow the refrigerant gas to settle back into place, as well as the oil lubricant in the compressor.

M best advice (Hopefully it's not to late), is turn the unit off for at least 6 hours, to see if everything will settle back into place. If that doesn't solve the problem, you will need to have the compressor professionally recharged. As the existing refrigerant gas will have to be evacuated and captured, before recharging.

Hope this helped you.

My amana window unit blew a fuse in my fuse box I replace it now thw window unit won't come on

Candy, if the fuse blew in the first place, it was either overloaded or the AC unit has an electrical short in it. However, it may not come on now, without turning the Master Switch on the AC unit OFF and unplugging it from the outlet. Wait 10 minutes before plugging it back in. Then turn the unit ON. If it functions properly then the problem is solved. If not, the circuit board in the unit has been fried and will have to be replaced. Also, be sure that only the AC is plugged in to this receptacle. More than one will overload the fuse/circuit.

Hope this information helped you. Please rate my reply.

I bought hitachi 1.5 ton AC in 2005. i have not used it for 4 years now. its in the pack. will the AC work now? can i get it installed now? my mobile number 919845671017

Hi, You shouldn't have any problem with having it installed as long as the compressor section was stored in a upright position. Air Conditioners set for years on shelves at refrigeration parts houses, and are sold every day. If the outdoor compressor/condenser unit has been store in the upright position, you will be fine. Never lay a unit that has a compressor in it on its side, as this will burn it out on start up. You will be fine.

It is usually reccomended to let it stand in it's normal position for 24 hours prior to running to allow any oil to run back to the compressor. Unit should work.

Seal for roof top ac unit

I just spoke with the mechanic at my RV dealership and he said the sticky side goes on the a/c unit. You only have to turn it on it's side to do this. Just wait 1 hour after re-installing the unit on your RV before turning it on.
