When takinng pic and preview of pic got vertical positon

go to new message then press the menu button select attach the menu comes up select slide show. now u decide how many pics to send. remember u have a 300kb limit. say you wanna send 2 pics hit the add slide now you have 2 slides. now go to the 1st slide it has 2 arrows, preview, add pic, and remove slide. now hit add pic select your pic then hit the right arrow above the preview button. now select your 2nd pic now u can preview or press done. its ready to send you can preview by pushing the play button. This may help you, try using the Preview feature on the LCD screen.
The LCD screen Preview feature was not used to take a picture in Close-Up mode. Always use the Preview feature in Close-Up mode to confirm focus and to frame the subject properly. If the Preview feature is not used, the LCD will not display an accurate view of the subject.

check the bottom of the chain guard, look for a loose bolt just inside the housing.

Water damage - possible. Otherwise just aging electronics. It is a form of digital noise.... Should not impact the stored or downloaded pictures!!

If it's a DSLR the picture most likely can't be displayed on the LCD screen (because it's an SLR) - I think the newest ones do this now, but older ones (even a year or two older) don't.

On a DSLR such as the Pentax K200d, which I have, if you want to see what your picture will look like before you take it, you could use the picture preview function. There is a ring around the button you push to take the picture - turn the ring clockwise slightly and it will take a preview picture.
