I just bought a ps2 slim new and modded, when i turn on the console nothing happens. The led is green yea, but i see no signal on AV (i checked the others too), at the beginning i heard a small sound (sounds like a small fan starting spin) that ends after a few seconds, that's all. How can i do?

Hi NateQ, Sorry about no one paying attention to your problem for so long. I just got started about a month ago. I have been repairing video Game consoles for over a decade though. Your problem is that your slim has a melted down laser and lens assembly. The unit is dirty. You will need a new disc drive and a thorough cleaning to get it back in service. The problem about the power light is due to excessive dust buildup shorting out the components on the motherboard. The video output is also comprimised by dust and dirt. The disc spinning is possibly comprimised by hair wrapped around the disc drive spindle. Hi Leostg, I have seen this a couple of times. Lightning or an overload has burned up the motherboard. Its not a fuse, its a fried Emotion Engine processor. Best advice on dead motherboard is to probably total it unless you can get a low price motherboard replacement. My cost on a new motherboard for slim is about $55. If you want it fixed, replace the motherboard. Really you may be able to get another Slim for $55 or less. If you look on ebay for another motherboard do not take any chances on used motherboards. Go for a broken slim model that will boot up but want read discs. When you get one that boots up, use its motherboard in your Slim. This will be your best deal at getting your slim up and running once more. Please give me a Solved vote. I believe you only get one vote and its locked. I turn on the console: the disc spins, the led is on, the boot sound is played, but the screen remains blank. No further sounds are played as well (e.g. the Browser sound or the game's sound). The cable appears fine (since it plays the console boot sound).

soo there are other ways to fix this, but its hard to find the parts and depending on your soldering skills may not help. fix one is replacing the av connector on the mother board. thisis not fun as its a very delicate un solder and re solder job. fix 2 just replace the wholemother board,easier but still hard to get parts for. hope this helps
