SOURCE: I have a Samsung P800

Ok. I have the samsung l200 but the cameras are very similar. I had the issue as well. When I plug it in it flashes red once, green once, then orange consistently. It would not charge the battery.

The fix was really quite unexpected. I did two things not sure which fixed it.

1. slide the cable into the camera slowly until the light turned red once, then pulled it gently in and out a few times.
2. as i plugged it in, I tried to angle the plug side to side sliding it to the left and right on a diagonal. I was hoping the pins would be touched differently when I did this which might reset something.

not sure which of these two things corrected the problem, but the camera is now charging.

Superheadz Vistaquest VQ-1024 Silver 10MP Digital Camera. It turns On then Off.

Question edited for clarity and add maker.

The batteries are shot, under powered and you need new ones. The orange flashing lights are the clue. also make sure the battery contacts are clean and bright.

Flashing blue light on back of camera and it won't turn on

The little blue light on the bottom of the back side of the camera is the memory access light. As long as the light is on, or is flickering, you should not open the battery cover or the memory cover. You definitely should not remove the battery or the memory card as well.
If the light is flashing, it can indicate the camera has problems accessing the memory.
If it continues, you should switch of the camera and remove the card. Then check in an external memory card reader if all pictures are still there. Get all pictures from the card and backup to a computer. Then do a format depending on the size of the card, FAT12 FAT16 or FAT32. Replace the card and let the camera format the card again.
If you do have another memory card, first save all pictures to the computer, only then put the card in your camera to check if that card works better in your camera.
If you need to recover pictures from your card, because the computer can't read them, there are enough recover programmes around on the net. Lots are free.

Orange light flashes on when turn on Olympus c-50 zoom camera and orange and green lights in upper left corner blink when try to take pictures. Won't take any pictures

The flashing Orange light means the charge is flashing.
The flashing Green light means the focus and exposure are not correct.

Have you recently replaced the batteries? Or are you using rechargeable batteries? Lack of enough "Juice" could allow for the flash to not charge up (Orange) therefore not allowing the camera to get the correct exposure (Green). I would try new fresh batteries or a new battery pack. If that doesn't fix the issue it must be a bad circuitry in the body that is shorting not letting the flash charge.

Hi there please follow the steps and let me know the result.
1. Ensure batteries are fully charged & clean the battery connector point in side the battery compartment.

3. Try turning the camera with the lens facing down and shake to dislodge anything stuck
4. Try removing batteries and memory card, wait 5 minutes and refit the battery only.

Batteries are charged, flash doesn't go off and camera shuts down, ready light blinks amber, then read and then shuts down

Since the flash requires lots of energy it sounds like you have a battery problem. 1. Make sure you will install a new or fully charged battery/batteries into your camera. Please use lithium batteries Ni-Mh or rechargeable Batteries (2000 M.Amp or higher). 2. Clean the battery contacts. a. Remove the battery/batteries and the memory card from your camera, then wipe the battery contacts with a soft, clean cloth. b. Reinstall the battery/batteries into your camera 3. Turn on your camera without the memory card. (If it works then it?s your memory card that is faulty)

Battey has lost it's memory. Happened to mine TWICE now. This is the fix (from another thread, posted by theslug):

"Hi,I just found a soultion on another website and it appears to have worked for me.Apparently the battery loses it memory when fully discharged,to fix this take a 9v battery and place the terminals + to + and - to - with the camera battery for 30 seconds or so then put the battery back in the camera and charge as normal.I just did this and it seems to be charging and the red light is solid.hope this helps."

When I try to charge the battery the light just flashes and the charger does not work.

Hi, I had the same problem!

Had not used my camera for a while so I decided to but my battery on charge, once in the charger the orange light just kept flashing so I left this in "flashing" for a good hour or so.

I removed it and then replaced it, and it was still flashing so I decided to get a new battery (£40!).

I put the new battery on charge over night and it charged great, so I thought I would re-try charging my old one before I sent it away for recycle, and guess what the orange light stopped ON and it was charging!

Not sure what happened here, it was either charge the old for an hour with light flashing and then remove and leave over night and re-try OR insert a good battery to re-set the charger?

But I now have 2 good batteries.

Hope this helps :)

Kodak Easyshare Z760 orange light flashing

The flash does not charge separate from the rest of the camera. Try cleaning the flash sensor on the front of the camera or the flash led may be bad.

Secondly, this light functions as a flash sensor which is trying to tell you that you need to use a flash although you may have the flash manually turned off. looks like a bolt of lightning with a circle/slash through it.
