Could be the floppy disk and it may need cleaning. Reply with age of unit, exact error message and have you tried other floppy disks?

Testimonial: "Hi there John, I disassembled the unit (Technics KN1200) and removed the floppy drive unit. I opened it up and cleaned it, also the reading heads. Same problem. I'm not sure of its age as I've just bought it 2nd hand. It has errors when trying to save sequences, also it won't accept standard midi files whether I save them as .mid or .midi . Error message: "Non standard midi file""

On my Husqvarna Viking sewing & embroidery machine...when I put in a floppy disc I get the error message: General disc error. What is wrong?

It can't read your disc, it may be damaged or needs to be cleaned. It could also be the wrong disc for the machine. The machine can't recognize it.

I cant get the disc drive to work on my technics SX-KN2000 keyboard - it keeps telling me theres an error when i insert a disc and I know the discs are ok as they play fine on my other keyboard. Can you...

Try formatting a fresh disk in the KN2000. If it doesn't work, something in the drive has gone bad. First thing would be to CAREFULLY clean the heads using 91% isoprophyl alcohol.
