SOURCE: Fuel Mixture Husqvarna 455 Rancher Chain Saw

Page 17 of your Operator's Manual says 50:1.

Fuel/Oil Mixture

  1. Use a quality 2 cycle oil and mix it to the OIL supplier's recommended ratio. Today I use Stihl 2 cycle oil mixed @ 50:1 in a Pioneer that I purchased new in 1980. There are no gouges or scratches on the piston or cylinder and I have no carbon build up on the piston top. The manual (on stone tablets) recommends 24:1. Over the years the mixture has leaned from 24:1 (Saw Recommendation) to 28:1 (Lawn boy mower recommendation) to 32:1 (Oil provider 8oz/2gal - used for many years) and finally the last 5 (±) years 50:1 (Stihl 2.6oz/1gal)
  2. Most gas in the US of A contains ethanol; not good with chainsaws. Mix what you expect to use within a few months. Anything over 6 months old use up in a 4 cycle engine. HTH

SOURCE: How do I replace chain on Husqvarna 455 rancher

Unlock the chain brake and remove the clutch cover. This should provide what you ask:
http://www.fixya.com/support/r4146814-chainsaw_chain_installation

If you get stuck or need model specific instruction, there is very detailed illustrated instruction in your manual under "Fitting the bar and chain". The tool-less adjusters add needless layers of complexity IMO.

SOURCE: magneto to flywheel gap for Husqvarna 455 Chain Saw

Ignition module gap
Place a business or index card between the fly wheel and coil, rotate until the magnetic attraction pulls everything tight together. Tighten the coil screws, rotate the flywheel until the attraction eases and remove the card. Ensure nothing contacts when flywheel is rotated.

What is the gas / oil ratio mixture for husqvarna 455 rancher model ?

50:1 that's 2.6 ounces of 2-stroke oil (preferably with fuel stabilizer) to one gallon of gas. I recommend using 89 octane gasoline for all small engines. It has little or no ethanol in it, as opposed to the 10% typical in 87 or 86 octane fuel. This will prevent a lot of fuel issues, especially if you are not using the tool daily or at least weekly.

I have a rancher 455 and it's not suppling enough oil to the bar. Is there an adjustment for this?

The 455 has a 3 position adjustable oil pump, the adjuster screw is up under the crankcase, sprocket side, you need a flat blade screw driver.

Husqvarna 455 rancher has no power at full throttle, but will start and idle normal.

Check for plugged fuel filter, air cleaner, and muffler. Check the fuel lines for decay or other damage. Check the chain for proper oiling and not so tight that you can't turn it by hand. Hope this helps!

I have a husqvarna 455 rancher that won't run at full throttle unless the choke is on. It runs at half throttle fine.

Clean or replace the fuel filter. Check the fuel lines for decay or other damage. Check the muffler for plugging of the screen. Be sure to run with fresh fuel mix and to shake the container thoroughly each time just before filling the tank to prevent oil starvation. Hope this helps!

Turning up the bar oil?

An “OM, 455e Rancher, 455 Rancher, 460 Rancher, 2009-09, EN, FR, ES” Follows (may not be your saw):
http://weborder.husqvarna.com/order_static/doc/HOUS/HOUS2009/HOUS2009_1151382-49.pdf
An excerpt from page 38 of the above OM follows (forcing it may render it inoperative):
Adjustment of the oil pump
Adjustments are made by turning the screw using a screwdriver or combination spanner.
The machine is supplied from the factory with the screw set to position 2.
Turning the screw clockwise will reduce the oil flow and turning the screw anti-clockwise will increase the oil flow.
Recommended settings:
• Bar 13"-15": Position 1 (full CW)
• Bar 15"-18": Position 2 (center)
• Bar 18"-20": Position (full CCW)
These recommendations apply to Husqvarna’s chain oil, for other chain oils increase the oil flow by one step.
WARNING! The engine must be stopped when making adjustments.
