First the washer on the inside of the handle needs to be pryed off.
The button assembly is a push fit arrangement. Cut yourself 2 small timber wedges and knock them under the button on the outside of the handle, keep the pressure even and the orange pin will be pulled out.

How do I replace the upper probe assembly #78 in my paslode finish nailer IM250

With the old IM250 (900400) you remove the lower probe, open the nose release, the upper probe will turn slightly and come out.
With the newer models you have to disassemble the tool and separate the handle halves to remove the probe.

Paslode 2nd fix firing pin seems to ride over the top of nail hence not shooting it to right depth

Ok the only thing that keeps it from riding over the top of the nail is your quick release on the front of the tool. I bet when you go to latch the front that it is not very tight. you need to replace the whole door. This should take care of you problem. # 900759 front plate assemblyhttp://www.paslode.com/cleaning-procedures.html

Paslode 900420 nailer fan keeps running. Nails drive fine but I have to release the battery to stop the fan.

Hi,

Here is a tip that I wrote about the Paslode nailers and the problems that can come up with them.

I also have a link to the Paslode manuals which contain Paslode cleaning and troubleshooting guides.

If you need parts for your Paslode, there also is a link for a site that sells the Paslode nailer parts.

IM250 not firing.

I know this post is old, but nothing worked for me until I tried the following.

little plastic triangle pin that fuel cell tip plugs into was somehow plugged in to far. pull that out, plug in gently, retry nailer.

Paslode framing nailer loss of power.

Here's what I found at the Paslode Troubleshooting Site:
Tool will not cycle - fan runs, indicator light
is solid green.

Lockout bracket is stuck in lockout position.
Work-contacting element is bent, or build-up of
debris in track restricts operation.
Follower is not behind fasteners.
Fuel Cell empty.
Spark wire out of spark plug.
Spark plug is dirty.
No spark is generated.
Check lockout.

Remove and inspect lower probe. Clean and
lubricate track with Paslode Impulse® oil.
Repair or replace lower probe as required.
Position follower behind fasteners.
Replace fuel cell.
Remove cap and check spark lead, insert in
spark plug and replace cover.
Clean tool cylinder head and spark plug.

If this doesn't work, I suggest contacting Paslode directly 800-222-6990
