Be carefull, never use force. Check if you don't try to put in the card the wrong way around. Then check if nothing is damaged inside the memory slot. You need a bright light and perhaps a magnifying glass, because everything is very small. Compare the memory slot with a memory slot from another camera. Watch how the little knobs on the side look. I don't mean the contacts. When the contacts are bent, there is a possibility someone once pressed a memory card in the wrong way around and damaged the contacts and knob to secure the card.

So you're having problem in your memory card?

Try this:
1. Take out your memory card from the camera.
2. There's switch to lock and unlock on the memory card.
3. Just unlock it, and put back your memory card.

Hope this help! PM me if you have another questions.

SOURCE: When i insert my memory card it says

Is it a new 4GB memory card? If so that might be your problem. The card would likely be an SDHC card, and your camera was designed well before the SDHC format came out. Your camera can only use standard SD cards (2GB or less).
But if the card is less than 2GB, it could have become corrupted. In this case you could try formatting the card in the camera to see if this would rejuvenate it. This will also erase the card. See this post if you wish to first recover those pictures.
Finally, if this is occurring with multiple cards, and is also saying "card locked" even though the tiny slide switch is in the unlocked position, then see this post for a possible remedy.

Memory card locked

There are several possible causes for "memory card locked", "memory card error", or "no memory card". The most common cause is having the tiny slide switch on the side of the card in the wrong position. The second most common is trying to use a 4GB or higher SDHC card with an older camera made before SDHC format came out. There are also other common causes if the above didn't help, with troubleshooting steps for this problem listed here.

My camera says the memory card is locked and memory card error appears when I turn on the camera. I've read that I have to format the card, but won't the photos be destroyed? How can I get my pictures

There is a tab on the memory card so you will you need to remove it from the camera and change the position of this tab to "unlock" it. DO NOT format the card until you've BACKED UP your files from it (typically to a PC or USB drive (stick or external hard drive).

When i try to take a picture it says "no memory card" I have tried several different memory cards and made sure they were all "unlocked"

I know that you've also tried the tiny locking slide switch on the side of the card? But if so, the next thing to try is the lock switch in the camera itself. See the "toothpick fix" in this link.

Memory card not working

If you're sure the slide switch on the side of the card is in the unlocked position, try this. Remove the card and battery...press all the buttons...leave it alone for 20 minutes...insert the card and then the battery...turn it on.

I am trying to delete a locked picture from my camera memory card but can't figure it out without my user guide. Don't know how it got locked in the first place.

You could take the XD memory and plug it into a memory card reader that plugs into a USB connector of a computer.. The computer should treat it like just another input with folders with JPEG files. Try and delete the screwed up picture. Lexar has made several different Universal card readers that I've had and I picked up an XD to USB adapter at Walmart the other day.

The memory card is locked and I cant figure out how to unlock it...the camera wont take pictures and cant even erase the pictures

remove the memory card and look on the side of it their should be a little tab move it to the other possion and try the camera again. if that does not work with the card out gently tap the camera on the card side. and reinsert it their is a sensor that tells the camera their is a card inserted in it. it might be stuck. hope this helps.
