Maytag washer mavt546eww..will not get up to full speed

After spin cycle starts it acts like the aggitator is trying to start. It makes a loud pop noise and then the aggitator kicks back and stops the drum from spinning. It never gets up to full speed and does this until the spin cycle is finished which leaves the clothes real wet. the washer is about 2.5 years old and all other functions work normally.

Hi, this is transmission failure. the clutch has been damaged. I recommend replacing the transmission and agitator assembly as well.

I have a Maytag top load washer - model MAVT546EWW purchased from Lowes. The entire led lights blink twice, then the "regular" wash light is lit. This repeats every 20 seconds or so. The washer will only...

This sounds like the electeronic is faulty. Do this. Turn off the machine and unplug it from the power outlet for 5 minutes. Then plug it in and select a cycle. Make sure the water is on and try the spin only cycle first. if it wont spin only then there is a problem in the controller or the motor circuit. Thsi could be something simple like the unbalance switch or something worse like the motor or controller. ensuder the bowl is central. Pull the bowl to the centre. if rthe button you refer to is an overload button then the motor is faulty. A motor overload button measures the motor current in the neutral leg and if it is too great then it pops and stops the appliance.

WILL NOT REACH FULL SPIN CYCLE, loud hum prior to spin, starts to spin, hits second speed but will not kick into full speed.

I would suspect that you have a Motor and Motor Control Problem. This washer has a three phase motor in it and it could have one phase out of it or the Motor Control board could be bad. However it is recommended that you replace both at the same time with a motor conversion kit.

I have a MAYTAG washer that was having trouble in the spin cycle it would drain but would spin slower like the brake was coming on. Now it rinses and spins fine but during the wash cycle it fills then once...

More than likely it has a broken wire underneath that controls the spin. and agitation. I had an old Kenmore that the wire that controls these functions would break about every 6 months.

There is 2 possible problems. 1. Pump will make noise as soon as the drain and spin starts. 2. Rear bearing this noise usually starts later in cycle as the drum gets up to final speed. The rear bearing of coarse is the most expensive of the two as it is part of the outer tub.

Loud noise when aggitating code says motor not rotating properly

It's noisy Most noises from a washing machine occur during the spin cycle. If you hear loud thumping during the spin, the load of clothes may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and redistribute the clothes, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary.
or something stuck up in spinning motor assembly.

thanks and plse do not forget to accept the solution.

hi there,

the humming is the motor trying to turn, which means it works. since you did not mention any error messages, it could just be a belt that slipped off the pulley. have you taken it apart yet?

it definitely worth fixing.

Loud clicking during spin, won't spin full speed

manofred, you either have something in your pump or the coupler is starting to break up. Tip the washer back and take a look. See if there is a bunch of black debris under the trans. If so, your coupler is failing. The pump will come off with 2 clips and 2 clamps. Check to see if something is in the impeller. Check the attachments....Catriver...post back.
