Sony parts suppliers sell replacement ear pads. Part no 2-320-280-01 about US$16 each (not pair).
Old ear pads slip off - pull gently to stretch the part that sits in the groove of the headphones until one side slides out.

The creative sewer can remanufacture new pads from thin soft leather by following the pattern of the old ones.
No cost fix is to scrape off the remaining peeling urethane leaving the soft fabric backing. Headphones will still work but the soft earpads should absorb high frequencies.

Problem with the Microsoft LifeChat? LX-3000 Headset hi i just bought microsoft live chat lx3000 it works ok with skype or msn but how do i use it to listen to my music or how to instal driver

My guess it's something in the cabling of this device I think it is cheaper to buy a new headset with the same quality. I think that that best solves your problem.

A little more info would help... Have you tried Control Panel --> new hardware?

not to take the p!ss but make sure you haven't got micro phone muted on the volume control that's inline with cable :P
