Disconnect the AC power.
Remove the battery.
Press the ON/OFF button (to drain any residual voltage).
Re-insert the battery.
Reconnect the AC power.
Turn it on.
Instead of "resuming Windows", it should show the normal Windows startup.

How to fix the webcam of lenovo y430?

Try installing the latest WEBcam driver.
The same model Lenovocan have different types of network, video and audio drivers and unless youknow exactly which one is installed in your Lenovo, you need to download allthe drivers and install each driver until you find the right driver. When you download thedrivers, write down the device driver and it's file name so you have a recordof which driver you are installing and which directory the unzipped files arelocated on your hard drive.Go to the IBM/Lenovo WEBsite - support/download page and download the latest Windows device drivers foryour model computer, Use this link: - http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/product.do?template=%2Fproductselection%2Flandingpages%2FbrowseByProductLandingPage.vm&sitestyle=lenovo&brandind=10&validate=true

For the past few days my Lenovo IdeaPad Y430 has been booting up as usual up to the point where i put in my username and password. I get a black screen with the cursor after i log on and cannot go beyond...

Hi verneaimable,

I'm glad to help you out with the boot up issue of your Ideapad Y430. Based on the details that you have provided this is leading to a software issue. To address this concern, you need to reload the Operating System of your machine. OS has been corrupted causing you not to boot up on Windows. Lenovo do have this One Key Recovery button that you can use. You need not to worry because I have step by step procedure below making it easy for you to do the process:

Discalaimer: Using the One Key Recovery will put back your machine to it's factory settings. Any important file/software you currently have will be wiped out. You might want to create back up copy first of all your files before continuing on the process.

Steps:

1. Turn off your compter.

2. Look for theOne Key Recovery button on your PC. It's near the power button.

3. Press the OKR button, wait until your computer turns on.

4. After Windows loading files you'll be routed on Lenovo One Key Rescue System.

5. Select One Key Recovery then, select restore from Intial back up.

Usually it will take 20-30 minutes for the whole process to be done. Once it's finish just reboot your computer. You'll now have the operating system reloaded to your pc. This should fix the issue.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using Fixya.

I just want to use my one key recovery for y430 lenovo

Hi r_lakshmiraj,
I see that you want to use your One Ky Recovery on your Y430 machine.
  • First have your Laptop turned OFF
  • Once turned OFF press and hold down the One Key Recovery Button beside the power button, it should have an arrow icon arching to the left and hold it down for 5 seconds the Laptop should turn on.
  • You will see on the screen Windows is Loading Files, then Lenovo One Key Rescue system with a wallpaper of leaves in the background.
  • Once you see the screen it will give you options like One key anti virus, One Key Recovery and so on.
  • Click on One Key Recovery, then the next page click on the first option that says restore to initial backup or Restore back to factory defaults.
  • This will then give you a screen informing you that if you have data on the Hard drive that this will result to data loss once started, click on yes or next if you are decided to proceed, then click on start to begin the One Key recovery process.
Once everything is done you will get a screen informing you that it is done click on DONE then Reboot this will restart your computer like when you had it the very first time.
I hope that this will be of help regarding your concern.
Have a nice day.

The Lenovo Y430 occasionally gets a blue screen. OS is Windows XP. The computer is fairly new. Could this be a software problem or a hardware issue? Would an upgrade to Vista solve the problem?

you are right but you can try this go to start - run type msconfig press enter.disable all start up items except synaptics and wireless if you do see any.reboot your computer.check if it happens.if it does then it`s hard ware problem.could be RAM,graphics card or any other accessory attached to mother board.take care.

New Lenovo Y430 keyboard and touchpad does not work

Finally, I decided and insisted on being given a replacement for another defective Y430 unit. I am just so glad that the problematic 2 units were discovered before the 7-days allowance for return/replacement of defective units. I now have this third unit of Lenovo to replace the first two defective ones. I do hope this works well and will not make me do a fourth trip to the seller for any returns/ replacements/complaints again. :)

if the OS is changed to Xp then you will have to download the drivers for the hot keys from consumer support.lenovo.com and then you will be able to use all the quick launch facilities provided.Simply visit the site and choose your options as notebook and y 430 and you will be directed on that page.Remember tyo install patch for Xp before installing any driver as this is mainly for the sound but helps in connecting the PCI bridge to pci express as well.
