Epson Perfection 4990 Flatbed Scanner to change glass bottom half

I don't believe it is possible to add a paper feed to this scanner. The only hopper fed scanner of which I'm aware is the Kodak s1220.

Disconnect and remove the lid. Remove the two screws on the back of the base. Then use a screwdriver or flat blade to slightly open the back seam. Beginning at the back, run a blade up inside the upper part of the side seam. You will need to release three catches on each side. Once the sides are loose, raise the back of the top, while pushing forward, and the two snap catches at the front will release. The top then lifts off and you can clean the glass. Reassemble in reverse order.
