Why wont my coby stay on?

1) New batteries are the wrong type.
2) Reset the TV unplug it from the power socket for 5 or 10 minutes and plug it back on,
3) Now try the remotes again.

Most likely the power board is defective. A new power board will cost $40 to $100 depending on your model. ShopJimmy.com is a good place to look for boards. They are not too difficult to replace if you have a minimum of electronic repair experience.

unfortunately the coby company has gone out of business probably because they have produced an inferior product that has had many problems, many people are posting problems with these sets. it is better you just purchase a different brand of tv and leave this heartache causing product behind.

If you have tried using different input devices, looked for loose contacts
in power outlet, RC Jack, cable and connectors, the TV might need service.

It is very rare and difficult to get the service manual for Coby TVs. What is the model number to your Coby TV? Sometimes I may have it with me now. Just send your email address alongwith the model number of your set to me by Fixya comment. If I have it, I'll send a copy of it to you by return mail. OK.

i have a coby 26 , I know sorry about that, but if any can help I appreciate it . turned set on today and green lite only no pic/sound/snow did have a horizontal red line for a few days prior to today.

The correct remote code to get your Coby TFTV1525 is 10030. Coby makes tvs for NEC and 10030 is the first code on the NEC list.

bought a coby tftv 2425, had a uverse remote that was set to my old zenith, it shut the tv off! The code is1357. It worked on both the sets I bought. Bettter to be lucky than talented!

If you are a DirecTV or Cox subscriber, you may sync a universal remote to your television using code 1548 or 11548.
