Is amd radeon hd 4650 1gb ddr2 agp works with asus p5gc-mx motherboard?

Yes you can put a 1 gb card. The motherboard has PCI Express so you don't have to worry to much. The older AGP cards are almost gone.

You could buy a GeForce 8500, 8600, or 8800, or the 9 series. You can also buy a Radeon HD 5870 or 5570.
