Unplug the Magic Chef microwave from the wall outlet.
Remove the screw from the light cover located on the left side of the underside of the microwave. The light cover is connected to a hinge and will lower, but cannot be removed from the microwave.
Unscrew the light bulb, then screw in the new light bulb. hope this helps

put the bulb of microwave down . and then install a new bulb on it .before do these .you should turn off the switch .

i think your bulb fused because you change it without unpluging and the current\
directly hit the filament.

you should buy new one and try it again and remenber that you shoul unplug it first.

depends on what light your talking about.. if it is the surface light under microwave if this is a cabinet mount you will have to remove the screws normally phillip head under unit adn swing down the bottom plate to access... if your talking about the light in the microwave depending on the brand you may have to take the top cover off which sometimes is screwed coming down from the top or if you look through the luvers of the grill cover will have a couple of phillips screws once removed alot of them you can access from that area.. some even have a cover inside the actually microwave you remonve but should be very visible just by looking if this was the case... if all that fails the only way to change on certain models unfortunately is to take exterior shell off and sccess that way.. simple process just time consuming... good luck to you ///microwaves gotta love um work on these things on a daily bases and they can be fun....

The lamp is located under the stainless top cover of the microwave which unscrews from the back and sides, the bottom corners in the back have special torx screws which are meant to thwart you from removing them but a pair of locking pliers does the trick. Then under the cover on the top of the microwave there's a black elliptical shaped base with only 1 screw holding it down, that is the lamp. Pull the female spade connectors from the lamp, unscrew it and take it out. Oster has about the worst customer service around so i have not verified that they will sell a replacement lamp but if you can find a 20W 120V replacement with spade connectors that will do.
