Orientation of inlet pipes

Which way round do the hot and cold inlet pipes go?

[Washing machine: Servis Caress 1500 "A"]

I managed to find an addendum to the manual which says that, viewed from the rear, the hot inlet is on the left.

I am not to sure if this answers your question but I think you are asking which way the hot and cold hoses connect to the wasing machine? if this is the case if you look on the back of the washing machine you will see stamped in the metel a H for hot connect the hot water inlet hose to this, If it is not marked, hook up the hot water hose to the washing machine and place the water temp selector to hot and turn machine on if hot water comes out you have the correct hose hooked up,if not then the cold water hose goes were you hooked up the hot water hose. hope this helps

Servis Caress 1500 A - seemed problem wet cothes Tested on prog14 slow spin water just trickles in from back but no spin Similar on other spin cycles

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

I'm sorry but your posting is a little confusing to me. If I understand you correctly the water is just trickling in? Water shouldn't run in on any spin program as spinning is to get rid of the water out of the clothes. Water should only feed in during the pre-wash, wash and rinse cycles and be removed after each of those by the drain motor ;-0)
So- I will address a poor water filling problem in the hope that that is what your washer is suffering from- (if it isn't please 'reply' back to this posting, Thanks!)
If you have checked that the hot and cold water taps are turned on fully and the hoses are not kinked or squashed at the back, it is worth while checking both the hot and cold water inlet filters. Turn the taps off and remove both hoses at the washer end. Inside each inlet port there is normally a little filter which should just slide out. Clean if necessary and replace each one and the hoses. If after turning the taps back on there is no improvement, the problem is symptomatic of a malfunctioning hot or cold water control valve. Sorry but it needs a service call and a check that it isn't the control PCB ;-0(

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck,
John C

My bosch washing machine is a cold filled and the cold pipe is frozen as we got it in the garage can we us the hot fill with water min setting

You could, but bear in mind that it will be rinsing in hot water, so it could affect your washing.
I would suggest wrapping hot cloths round cold inlet hose and hope that will unfreeze it.
Also possible water could be frozen in the valve as well, which could burst when water unfreezes.

Servis model M3905W does it matter if the hot and cold water are connected up the right way round and if so what isthe right way round?! Thanks

Makes a big difference. Cold water valve is is normally marked blue or simply cold water. connected to cold water tap. Hot water marked with red colour or simply hot and connected to hot water tap.(Red hose - Hot water. Blue hose- cold water.).

Why is my warm water is cold? The hot is hot and cold is cold but warm is cold.

There is too much pressure on the cold feed, reduce the pressure on the cold by partly closing off the tap on the cold.
Or ensure the hot feed is fully open and not blocked, check if there are filters inline - remove the feed pipes at the washer end and look into the inlet valves - clear if blocked.
The inlet valve is common to hot and cold water with only a small pipe to fill the machine, the cold water is being forced back up the hot water pipe due to the pressure you can feel the pipe cool down after running hot then go to warm, if hot water is flowing the pipe will stay hot, if not then cold is going up the hot pipe.

I have just disconnected the inlet pipes on my Zanussi FJ1296 Washing machine but forgot to look which way round the go for putting them back - I can see no indication on the machine as to which inlet is...

inner one is hot and outer one is cold.
to check after fitting hoses, put on rinse program and only cold water should come in. if hot water comes in then you have the hoses wrong way round.

My servis easilogic 1300 washer/drier has lost temperature control and is boiling everything. The condenser has to be emptied every day as it produces so much extra condensate.

Dear Fixya team,

The hot water pipe was attached to the cold inlet and the cold supply to the hot water inlet of the machine. The domestic supply was also set to 80 centigrade in my daughters flat so all the machine settings were over ridden by the supply temperature.

Thank you for offering me a paid subscription and giving me a laugh. You are obviously an American company.
