If you are getting no spark at all,make sure key is on, make sure there is no short in plug wire, then take the plug out and put a screw driver in the plug cap and lay it near some metal where you can see a spark by pulling the engine over. Check it a few times to make sure. If there is nothing then I hold onto the screwdriver and turn the engine over slowly just to be sure there is no voltage, you might get a tingle but it is worth it. If you get a tingle, stop there and replace the spark plug and try it again. If still no spark, You may need to polish off the flywheel with some light sand paper. Make sure the Magneto armature is gapped .006 to .010 It is possible that the magneto armature is bad, but I haven't seen it in a very long time. Usually it it a short from a cover or frame to the plug wire, the plug cap isn't fitting tight or its a bad plug. Best of luck to you.

Remove spark plug. Then try it. Sometimes filled with gas.

Pull the plugs, reconnect spark wires, and holding plug against engine (to ground the shell) crank engine. Good spark both plugs? Reinstall them, and check the fuel system -- dirty fuel filter, or dirt in carburetor or lines.

The spark plug gap for this and the majority of mowers is 0.030 gap. H/ope this helps.
