I have an elna 3210 3230. Thread keeps breaking, stitch does not interlock. Help. Mary Poretta

Sounds like possibly more than one problem.
Why is my thread breaking

Sewing Machine Problem 1 Thread Breakage

If the top thread is not picking up the bobbin thread, it's possible the machine has been knocked out of time. Did the needle hit something or break recently? You can search for sewing machine timing or take it for service.

Bobbin thread isnt being pulled up. Cleaned machine, changed needle, re thread needle. No clue

the problem indicates that the needle thread tension is not tight enough
before threading the needle there should be a resistance to pulling the thread to put it in the eye of the needle

Model 4075 white sewing machine thread from bobbin builds up and stops sewing.

Check the stitching and confirm that it is in fact bobbin thread and not the top thread that is creating knots & loops under the fabric. This is usually the case and is called thread nests or bird nests. (You can search the internet for more information about this symptom.)

Install a brand new needle.
Remove the thread from the machine.
ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot while rethreading the upper thread.
Confirm the thread path is correct.
Verify the bobbin is installed facing the correct direction in the bobbin case and the bobbin case is threaded properly.

Set the upper tension to the midway point (factory standard) although it may need to be tweaked as machines change with use and time.

Pull up the bobbin thread. This method works with general sewing projects, not just quilting.
How and Why to Bring up the Bobbin Thread

Begin to test sew slowly.

If the thread is still making a mess, then the machine most likely has a timing issue. There are multiple web sites and videos that discuss sewing machine timing. Or take it for service.

My thread is not catching with bobbin thread

Be sure to use a brand new needle. A bent/damaged needle may not connect with the bobbin thread.

If it still does not pick up the bobbin thread, your machine most likely has a timing issue (the needle arrives at the wrong time to intercept the bobbin thread). There are multiple web sites and videos that discuss sewing machine timing. Or take it for service.

I can't get my needle to grab my bobbin thread

Always--install a brand new needle. A bent/dull/damaged needle may not pick up the bobbin thread.

Remove the thread from the machine. Always Raise The Presser Foot and rethread from the beginning. Make sure the thread seats completely in the tension disk and the thread path is correct.

Test your machine. If it still fails to pick up the bobbin thread, then your machine may have a timing issue (the needle is arriving at the bobbin at the wrong time in order to intercept with the bobbin thread).

There are many web sites and videos explaining sewing machine timing. Or, you can take it for service.

Singer 2250, thread is very loose, even with tension adjustments

ALL sewing machines have two disks that face each other in the thread path that exert tension on the top thread, and when threading you must get the thread between those disks to get any tension on the top. However, on ALL sewing machines, going back to their creation in 1859 (that I know of), you MUST thread your machine with the presser foot UP, because that is the only time the disks are spread to ACCEPT the thread. You have probably been threading your machine with the foot down. Another must as a side note--you MUST turn the hand wheel TOWARDS you at ALL times. If you turn it away from you more than one revolution, you risk throwing off the hook timing.

How do you time a hd110 singer sewing machine

Be sure to try a brand new needle first. If it still doesn't pick up the bobbin thread, then it possibly is out of time. Search for: sewing machine timing.
