The Acer 223W does not have built-in speakers; this explains why you can't get audio from it. You're better off buying a set of speakers anyway, monitor speakers are generally about as good laptop speakers... meaning they are not very good.

The documentation for this monitor should list its supported resolutions, and you will need to attach another monitor that supports a greater (possibly lower or higher) range of resolutions and then set it to one of the supported resolutions for the monitor. The native resolution appears to be 1680x1050, although I cannot find online documentation directly from Acer.

It would seem, somehow, your graphics driver was corrupted. The only thing to do is re-install graphics drivers. These can be found with a quick Google Search: CLICK ME
The first link, to DriversCollection.com, looks promising. This one is for Windows Vista or XP, but you need to specify on the tabs near the top of the page. Make sure you download the correct driver, as this page includes other drivers. You're looking for "Graphics Driver" [Vista] or "Video Driver" [XP].
Hope this works for you.

it means your monitor doesn't receive any signal from the system unit, have you check its connection? or RAM, or your video card? try to clean your RAM with a pencil eraser like wise with your Vcard, maybe one of them is busted. Now replace it
