I work for Coby technical support. Our customer service phone number is 1-800-727-3592.
You don't need to use Windows Media Player in order to put music on your player. There are various reasons why it may not be syncing. Below are instructions for how to put music on the player using copy and paste. It's the easiest way to add music to any regular MP3 player.
How to load an MP3 player without using Windows Media Player.
First, allow me to clarify a few things so that there is less confusion:
When you connect an mp3 player to a computer, you will not be able to use it until it's disconnected. In other words, the only thing you should do while the player is plugged into the computer is adding or deleting files. You can't use the buttons on the player while it's communicating with the computer, and as long as it's connected to the USB port, it's communicating.
Ok, let's get started!
Step 1
Connect the player to your USB port using the cable that came with it.
(NOTE): If the player has a male USB connector already on it, connect the player directly into the computer without using the cable. In other words, only use a cable if you have to.
Step 2
Click the "Start" button or press the key on the keyboard that has the Windows logo, and go to My Computer (Windows XP) or Computer (Vista).
Step 3
Locate your MP3 player on this screen. Do not close this window; just minimize it.
(NOTE): It should show up under Devices with Removable Storage or as a device under "Other." Most importantly, it should show up on this screen as something! When the player is connected, you should have something on this screen (usually an icon of some sort) that represents the player. This lets you know that the unit is ready to receive files because it's being recognized by your computer.
Step 4
Locate and open the folder that contains your music files.
Step 5
Using the mouse, copy one or more files. (Right mouse click on file, then left mouse click on copy)
Step 6
Go back to the "My Computer" or "Computer" screen, right mouse click on the icon representing the player and left
mouse click on paste. You should see a small status bar appear showing the file(s) being copied from your music folder to the player.
Step 7
Click on the Safe to Remove icon found in your system tray and disconnect the player.
And that's it! If you need additional assistance, I will help in any way that I can.
If you feel this solution doesn't deserve a good rating, please let me know why so that I may better assist you. If there is anything more I can do to help, I will!

SOURCE: My Coby MP-610 won't open coby media manager.
1. Did your unit comes with Coby Media Manager? THere are two versions of this unit, one comes with and one doesnt. You can usually tell, if your unit came with an Installation CD, then it doesnt use Coby Media Manager
2. To access CMM - Start > My Computer> Double click the removable disk drive that looks like a 'C' with a big red circle, follow prompts to open Coby Media Manager.
3. IF you somehow formatted or deleted it, you can download a new copy from here:
