Sony chc cl 5 md - cd changer doesn't open

HAVE YOU tried to open the tray by the pin hole on the front with a paper clip

Hello, this kind of repair requires certain skils and knowledge about the cd changer mechanism. Please claim for an in warranty repair or replacement of the system. If you need more info please advice. Arpi

most of the panels are tight to pull open,give it a harder pull,or some have a little release button

you need to replace loading belt, and possibly you need to grease/lube sliding mechanism also - "But this is the last you will to do" Because it is pain in a***s to do that properly. I recently repairing my CHC-CL5MD and spend two or three days to assamble it back properly. Because if you miss gears positions, you will stuck with it for long. So i recomend for replacing loading belt. You will need a belt with 45 mm in diameter.

Maybe here is someone who has LCD screen for CHC-CL5MD? I screwed up with it when cleaning screen inside from dust. screwed up with LCD flat cable - it is so fragile.

If you don't wanna send it for service, open the chassis of the player and free the CDs from the tray. Its highly likely that the CDs came off the trays and got stuck inside.

After some time it was showing some C 31 00 error. I searched on internet, opened the top cover, there is the CD changer and my cd was stuck in there, I pushed the CD from finger and there it goes... on press of eject it came out... thanks anyway...

i have a 2000 kompressor .106,000 miles i have the 3rd changer in it .you can get on ebay for $250.00 ,get 6 while you are at it you wiil need them ,they only last about 6 months.Dealer said it was because of burnt cds ??

hi there that is sorta the problem i had and if you press eject nothing happens its still in there what i done was disconnect the battery for at least one minute and the cd changer lost its memory and was fine so i ejected the cd magazine and cleaned all the cds and blew out inside the machine has worked everytime its woth a try
