The paperwork that should have come with the unit should give you a phone number that you can call to get help with your problem. It sounds like the charger is not working. You might want to test the charger output with a voltmeter.
I have a Shark Cordless Sweeper that needs a new battery too. (Model V1725QC 4.8V) I Googled around and finally gave up and phoned the number on the bottom of the Cordless Sweeper. No problem. The lady did ask me for the "DATE CODE" that is stamped in the silver part on the bottom of the sweeper. The number was 4608 (not easy to read). The battery cost is $16.95 and with Shippling the total came to $22.90. I should receive it in about 7-10 business days. It will be coming from Quebec to BC so that is the total Canadian Price. All model info is on the bottom. The Phone number is on the bottom of your Cordless Sweeper in white lettering on the black plastic towards the rear. The Phone Number is 1-800-798-7398. I hope this will help some other people. Just phone them - best to stick with the Shark Company batteries and they are not easy to find otherwise. No fuss, no muss when I called. No problem ... just gotta wait now. You can also try "www.sharkclean.com" ...
Look it up online. I found a place that charges 7.95 for the part & 6.99 shipping. Get the Model # off the bottom. Mine is V1700Z. And look it up that way on Google or Bing. I think it's listed online as EuroPro. My servers love this little baby, but they keep breaking that little piece. I understand that the rechargible batteries may wear out in a year, but I have yet to have a handle base last that long. A Bissel sweeper costs more, clogs faster & does not do as nice of a job. so even if I have to replace it 2x a year, it's not a total, loss
