How do i adjust screen size on a jvc 48 inch tv without remote?

You will have to do some dissassembling of the cabinet to remove the screen and bezel assembly. If you are will to do this I can give you the directions.

Okay so the green color that you see on the screen is because the coolant inside of the green picture tube is gone bad (it suppose to be cristal clear but now it is brownish and that makes the green color run all over the screen.) That just happens over time and I'm guessing the picture tubes have never been serviced. Now you got two choices
1- The easiest and fastest way would be to take it to a local repair shop and have them service the coolants of your picture tubes. I'm guessing it would run you about $165 or so to get them done (the three of them red,green and blue)
2-On the other hand you can do it yourself. It is not hard at all but it does require a lot of attention.

After the picture tubes have been serviced you'll notice the big difference.
You'll actually have a much brighter and sharper picture just like when it was new.

yes, I know what is wrong and there is a simple way for you to confirm this.

Have you ever seen a TV with just a white line across the screen from left to right? On a regular TV if this happens and you leave it on long enough it will burn the mark into the screen.

I suspect what you have is two of the picture tubes in this projection TV have a burn--it is caused because the set lost either horizontal or vertical sweep--picture either closed from left/right or top to bottom for a moment and then came back on instantly---burns a mark in one or more of the 3 tubes screens.

Way to confirm is simple--with the back cover removed cover each lens one at a time with the set turned on--be very careful when you do this not to touch anything else---

if you cover a lens and one of the marks goes away that tube is burnt----my guess is you are going to find at least 2 of the 3 tubes are burnt on the screen---

Problem here is the tube or tubes need to be replaced to correct this AND whatever caused this HAS TO BE FOUND ALSO OR IT WILL DO THE SAME THING TO THE NEW TUBES--


CONSIDERING the cost of two or more replacement tubes you are most likely better to buy a new TV---I have seen about 100 sets with just exactly what your are describing---It does not happen a lot--but once it happens the damage is permanent.

I know I am not giving you good news but I am sure from your description this is what has happened.


Sorry to give you bad news---see for yourself if you cover each lens one at a time--if you do this and the marks are gone you know exactly what has happened.
