Dell inspiron one 2205 touchscreen overheating

Had a similar problem a non-touchscreen 2205 model. The cooling radiator was clogged with dust. You can unplug the power cable, remove the back cover and clean the dust out. I removed the cooling fan and used a toothbrush and vacuum to gently remove the dust matt from blocking the radiator. Use q-tips to gently clean the fan blades as well. Reattach the fan and the computer no longer overheated. By the way, Dell designed the 2205 with not enough ventilation. After cleaning. the CPU idle temperature ran at 39C with the back cover attached and only 29C with the back cover removed. The air flow intake for the cooling fan is taking in warm air due to the Hard drive heat being captured by the back cover.

Hi bought my son a pre-owned ps3...got it home doesnt read the games,,,,it will play movies.... took it back to the shop they told me there is nothing wrong with it ,,,,what are we doing wrong :...

Hi EarthAngel,

Yes the disc reading problem on the PS3 is massive!

Let me run through what is going on and how you can fix it:

Cause:

It is the laser that needs readjusting in order to fix this problem. The good news is that the drive will still work as long as you readjust the laser in most cases - so you don't need to replace the drive!

Solution:

You can send it in for Repair and they will fix it for you - although this will cost about $150 in a repair bill and you can expect to wait for about 4 weeks to get your console back.

Quicker Solution:

It is possible to fix the PS3 games reading error from home because as mentioned above all you are doing is readjusting the laser.

Now if you want to go down this route check out the reviews of the top guides and see what they offer first below:

Hope this helps!

I plugged the wrong power supply (my laptop) into my Simpletech drive and couldn't figure out why just the power indicator flashed but nothing else happened. When I plugged in the right power supply...

It is worth a try. The circuit board of the SATA to USB interface inside the drive casing is definitely fried, but the drive itself could still be alive & usable.

My ps3 is reading all my games except my modern warfare 2

It is possible that you have some bad data on your hard drive and/or there is something wrong with the drive it self since yoou are going to a black screen. The worse case issue would be something wrong with the Blu-ray drive. However if the PS3 is reading other discs then most likely the problem is not with the Blu-ray drive.

The link below will take you through the steps to address problems with the hard drive.

Diamondmax plus 9 120gb hard drive

IF THIS IS AN ATA TYPE DRIVE (please verify this from you drive's documentation or labeling) -- you may need to review the following link to determine the proper method to install your new drive. This review should also take into account any documentation received with the drive. There are several variations of drive issues that cause the drive to register as the incorrect size described in the link. If you have questions please add them as a comment to this issue and we can review them before you take any unwise actions with this drive. Read the page carefully there are as stated before multiple reasons for this type of issue and multiple resolutions. Seagate acquired Maxtor so this link could be appropriate.
