Sherwood RD6505 wont turn on

if goes to stand by mode after turn on which mean either the power supply board doesn't have correct out put voltage or an error was detected that is why the main board goes to safety mode. so you will need first to locate the power supply board look for any bulging capacitor or burnt parts here.

Common short the cover cap over the video & sound boards short out if you remove it the cap only (shield metal) it usually will fix this

Hello Charliebigwh, hi technically your monitor's power supply has a problem, this is either your switching regulator does not work or there is a short in that section, If you want to do it your self, need to replace all large value, and or high voltage capacitors(especially the capacitors with its top is bubbly), need also to replace the switching IC, and power transistor.

Have it checked by a technician if you cannot do the work.

you should go to your control panel and go to mobile pc options and it should have an option for when you close the lid either turn off, stand by, or do nothing...

I did solve the problem with the Sherwood receiver R6036-R
The problem was a broken solder Trace towards the power cord on the powersupply board.

maybe inverter board problem or maybe eeprom on mainboard corrupt-i would say inverterboard
