The radio has two pins for power connection. The one is active only when the carkey has been turned, the other is always live with 12V to keep the radio settings. It sounds like it is only powered by the key dependant power, and not the "always-on" for the radio memory.

There are 2 fuses that control the radio.

check the 20 amp DOME fuse and the 15 amp CIG/Radio fuses, in the fusebox under the dashboard.

SOURCE: 1993 camery

I have the same problem. The light has a detector/sensing module that often goes bad. The issue for me at the moment is the location of the module. I believe it is located under the dash not to far from the instrument cluster. I do not think it is a short in the wiring system, if it is then the lights won't come on and the fuse(s) would have popped. Hope this is helpful?

SOURCE: Will not start

Hi I am Vortash sorry to say I think Joe is correct however you may have now damaged your valves .. check your manual or with a Dealer if your car has a Safe Head if it does that means if the cam is out the pistons do not touch the valves .. however if not you could have just bent your valves or even worse cracked the guides .. with a ratchet on the crank turn the engine over slowly by hand ( not on the starter obviously ) see if you can feel if there is impact don't worry if it happens you will feel it .. the piston may stop and will not go any further on it's stroke . If it did turn freely then you will need to reset your timing as Joe said above refer to your manual how to do this .. and then once that is done you need to do a compression test if the vehicle still wont start .. once you have set the timing turn it by hand again to make sure everything is clear and you get no impacts .. f you find that you have had a valve impacted then you need to strip off the head and take it to an engineer for pressure testing he will then be able to tell you if any other damage was done and if the head suffered crack damage due to impact with the pictons .. once the head is off you will see on top of the pistons if there is signs of impact damage if there is the pistons will need to be removed and checked for damage at the Gudgeon pin or Little end .. Here's hoping none of this is needed and your car is not damage like this fingers crossed for you .. Regards Vortash

My 96 camery 4cyld runs fine and all of a sudden will just stop. Turns over fine and plenty of fuel in the tank. Wondering if the fuel pump is going bad or fuse? or fuel injector

well, check all ofthe fuses. fuel pumps dont "start going bad" they either work fine or not at all, so you wont have to worry about that just yet. consider replacing the fuel filter, and running a health dose of B12-Chemtool or some other kind of high performance injector cleaner every single time you put fuel in the car. this stuff works better if you start using super octane for a bit too.

Cd player

The CD input slot is not hidden. You should be able to see it, BUT, if a CD is stuck in the player, there is a "door" that closes and will not let you put a CD in. If so, the radio must be removed, and the CD extracted.
