Craftsman lt1000 18 hp briggs keeps wanting to die

Craftsman lt1000 18 hrs briggs keeps wanting to die at full throttle with blades ingaged new battery new plug, oil changed new fuel filter new air filter and i drained all the gas out and put new in and still does the same thing can anyone help......................I WILL NEVER BUY CRAFTSMAN EVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Could be a dirty carb. Did you use stabil over the winter. Also could be a govener problem.

Remove and sharpen the blade. If the blade is sharp, it will slice though the grass with no resistance. Over time, the cutting edge gets blunted by stones, grass and soil. If that doesn't fix it, remove the carburetor, strip and clean all the jets. Make sure you count the turns and write down any pilot jet settings.

same problem, was told it was the jets, are your symptoms as follows
runs at low throttle, will only run at full throttle if fully choked
dies if choke is relieved

Hard to start lawn tractor

I have 2009 lawn tractor that will not start (from day 1) unless I use a small squirt
of start fluid into the air cleaner area. Nothing else seems to work. The battery will run down before it starts. Once engine is warm it starts great. Love the tractor,
hate the starting problem. Elevation is not a problem in michigan.

The easiest thing for you to do is look at another mower that has a single cylinder Briggs at how the linkage is set up. They will all be the same linkage from 12 hp- 20 hp.

Sure sounds like an elusive safety switch to me. There's usually one on the seat, the blade control, and the brake.
